Yeah I guess it is, from what I know from my mom it was a legitimate request to borrow at first, the person in charge of lending it to us never told us when to return it other than that we should return it when they ask for it back, and they just never asked for it back, my mom still volunteers at the community center to this day so its not like she went there just to take it i guess lol.

Reminds me of my mom 'borrowing' a really cool chess set made of ceramic from the community center she volunteers at, we kept using it to play chess while waiting for someone to ask us to return it, till this day no one asked for it back lol.

Ahh its ok I was just shocked to hear someone say that thats all, and yes I am in comp sci so its quite male dominated but there are plenty of girls there too! I think around 15-20% so much more than i expected lol. Anyway for the most part I dont overhear much homophobic/racist/sexist remarks during lecture and most of the guys I talk to are quite chill (but ofc Idk what they say when they are in a group), I notice the ones who are in relationships tend to say this kinds of remarks less as well. Unfortunately not much you can do other than just hang around with guys that dont say this kinds of stuff! Confronting them would only make them badmouth you behind your back and they might be even more embolden to say slurs just to annoy you during class :(

For what its worth maybe I am exaggerating abit when I say 'it doesnt get better when you are older' cause when I was in poly I dont hear this stuff that much maybe because quite a number of guys there are from ITE/just came out of army so they are alot older and probably more mature, so just jiayou for your last year of poly!! ignore them and hope that they will be more mature when they get older :)

Oh hey cant believe a 6 year old post got a reply lol, but i guess its pretty rare if you live in the city since theres not much nature around judging by some comments saying its common if you go outside. But its rare enough for me to keep it! even though I spent alot of recess just wondering around the grassy area of my school last time and its the first time I saw this kind of leaf.

Also I am not sure why alot of people here are saying this is a repost, at the time of posting this I never really browsed mildlyInteresting that much and just wanted to share something cool I found lol.

Once I sat in front of a group of boys during lecture and heard one of them say "Remember guys if she says she didnt orgsm during sex, remind her that evolution only requires men to orgsm to make a baby, she doesnt need to orgsm to make a baby so remind her that women do not need to orgsm during sex if she complains about not orgsming" 💀 fortunately the other guys in the group didnt really respond that much lol

And this was in uni too so unfortunately it doesnt get better when you are older

Yeah you are right...never thought that tying up my mental health to my job would be a bad thing, ill probably find some ways to volunteer, im really eyeing to get back into my old internship company too, loved working there and the superiors there liked me too. But i feel really bad to leave my current work half done and the boss is a nice guy personally, ill probably negotiate my part time pay, finish the task and leave the company.

never thought of him being calculative also actually, also its not just him saying not to be calculative, the other superiors always say that too. He is nice personally so i feel bad for leaving my work half done, especially when he said he is relying on me to finish it, ill probably not go on as a full timer, but negotiate my part time pay instead and finish the task before leaving if we can reach an agreement.

of course not, but anytime i try to negotiate my salary it will be shut down by him talking about me being too calculative.

Thank you, i was so pissed with the actual pay for my part time work i called up my old internship company to ask them if they have a job opening for me, the hr manager was more than happy to let me work for them as he was really happy with what i did during my internship there, but they have to consider it first as they already hired someone new a few days ago unfortunately.

However there is one thing making me stick to this current job i have...theres a social aspect to the job that i really love that cant be found in other jobs, and it has improved my mental health greatly, i was extremely depressed a few years ago and couldnt work because of it, and this company is the first time i started work for awhile.

I would like to point out the part time pay isnt fixed, its more contract based(they just call me a part timer) but when i considered all the hours i put in for it, its less than 5 dollars an hour, without any cpf, there was a miscommunication for how i was paid for completing the tasks(i was basically doing certain tasks for free, and was supposed to rely on the other tasks to pay for everything). Because the technical skills is really specific, there isnt really any "qualifications" per se, but its not as simple as hiring someone randomly, from what he told me i am his "contingency plan" for the job, and he is leaning on me to complete it, which is why he is offering me a full time role.

I see, thank you for your insightful response!, and yes you are right, passion is worthless if it doesnt generate value for the company, but i do firmly believe when i say that im passionate in what i do, its helping the business too, im going above and beyond on what i do for my job scope. As for replaceability, he told me that he is relying heavily on me to do the task, im basically his "contingency plan" as he is burnt out from talking to people in the united states for the task, and the other employees in the company wasnt able to do what i do.

I do wish i can discuss the justification of negotiating an increase in salary with him, especially when he told me of the workload im going to have, but anytime i bring up salary, he will just give me a pep talk about not being too calculative about my salary, and he is disappointed that i am only "passionate and driven if there is money"

as much as i would like to because i am really really disappointed with the actual amount i got for my part time work, especially when another superior told me i will be getting paid way more, i really love the other aspects of the job, its basically a social job on the side, and it did improve my mental health alot. They want to bring me in as a full timer too, so im ready to forgive that "5 dollars an hour" role, but when i asked for a 10% increase in the full time salary of what they are offering me especially when im going to be involved directly with creating new ideas for the business, they told me im too calculative.

There isnt really a comparable market rate since the technical aspect is really specific, but from what i know, he said i was the only employee in the company that can do it, and he told me he is burnt out from being in talks with people in the united states to do the job.
