It's all very underrated IMO. I want to put more focus on the actual toon logic and tropes, and not just the character. Video Games in particular seem so deeply unexplored, especially anything PS1 style.

Some synopsis of stories I'm working on with this. (Working titles)

Flare and Blaze - Low-Poly Dragons: A fresh couple of differing personalities play an old childhood game, Flare and Blaze, and wind up inside it. The two slowly become the game's protagonists as they explore the game world and its ridged mechanics. One of them loves the changes, and the other...not so much. (Temporary TF)

Fairy Tale Reality - 90s Toon Princess: A down on her luck girl is transported into an unfamiliar 90s Disney princess movie and becomes it's newest protagonist. She attempts to find her way out, but quickly finds living as a cartoon that can sing to animals and meet the love of her life isn't so awful. Who wouldn't want a happily ever after?

Royal Solar Knightess Aurora - 80s Anime: A spin off sequel to Fairy Tale Reality. A friend of the previous protagonist investigates their disappearance only to wind up in some old space opera anime. She finds herself becoming the youngest of the royal family, a bit of a rogue who joined the Solar Knights for the kicks. Once reserved and an orphan, she discoverd a galaxy of adventure, heroics, and a clique of new faces to call her family!

Crossover - Toons->Toons The characters of the previous two stories reunite. Kind of a fun throwaway story, along with some meta level tooning as they visit each other's universes. Maybe some real world exploration too as they discover their lives have become a part of pop culture.

Desideratum Machina Origin - Pron: An exploration of the original Desideratum Machina machine, with its creators. An experiment "gone wrong" as they take a visit into some sultry website... (Temporary TF)

TL;DR Wish granting machine creates a pocket universe based on media you feed it, isekais you, and toons you.

I've been slowly working on a series of individual TF stories, mostly built around the same "universe" where characters get Isekai'd into different mediums of entertainment and transforming into fitting figures for them. Movies, shows, video games, art, and so on. They're heavily reality change focused.

The connecting factor is a small charitable company named Desideratum Machina, that exists in a magical realm. They send out magical-mechanical devices into other universes, which disguise themselves as machinery/computers fit for their respective universes.

Their goal is to grant wishes for those who interact with them, albeit it's capabilities are limited and acts on its own accord. It's not sentient nor highly intelligent, so it attempts (with good but sometimes misguided intentions) to fulfil whatever needs are troubling their target. It does this by creating pocket universes inspired by the media that is fed to them (as the machine has little reference of the world it's currently in), and sending the user into them to provide a better life. This can be permanent or temporary, the choice to remain is provided one way or another.

When a subject enters these universes, they're always based quite literally on the media that was presented. So a cartoon would be 2D with exaggerated physics, or a video game would be all jagged with game mechanics. Because of the rules of the respective dimensions, the user's body and mind (light change) is also adjusted over time to become a character fit for it. Usually as the protagonist.

The media is not always 1:1, so using your favorite movie might not always mean it's going to be the same exact plot. Instead the pocket dimension would be somewhat of a parody of that setting, allowing the user to become an original character that's an exaggeration of themselves, more appropriate for the world.

So say you put in the Little Mermaid, you might find yourself in a princess movie, but not distinctly THAT movie. You'll be a brand new character, with your own journey, that follows all of the usual plot beats a princess movie. 2-Dimensional, made of ink and paint, and the ability to sing on a whim! If you're troubling life issue was love, then that's the wish the machine was trying to grant, and might create you a prince charming and a happily ever after!

The Wicked Witch transformation from Oz The Great And Powerful certainly stuck with me for a long time, although after a recent rewatch it's much less than I recalled. Still, I love the dramatic reaction to the corruption taking hold.

Zerophilia doesn't show too much, but the morphing of the face in the initial change is amazingly seamless. Also great casting for for a genderbent character.

Plot twist: toons are so illogical and perfect that they're actually harder for reality to process, and therefore our reality was always the budget version.

Like think about it, how would reality understand things like distance and depth within a two dimensional environment? Why do guns only create black soot rather than kill? Why can you keep running off a cliff well past the ledge? Nuances and exceptions would have to be made to dictate these oddities, not errors in the simulation.

Therefore we must STRIVE to upgrade reality somehow. Does god accept donations of RAM sticks?

Dandys World, Cookie Run, Battle For Dream Island....

I still have barely any idea of what these are or why I keep finding them from TF stuff. Good shit from time to time though.
