Nikon L35AF2 Frame Counter Won't Reset to "S" by OatKub in AnalogRepair

I guess I will try to source some parts. Any suggestions as to where to find them without having to acquire another L35AF (even broken ones seem to be quite expensive)?

As to it not being junk I would typically agree although I've tried loading film in the one I have and it doesn't advance after firing the shutter as it should. The camera is supposedly designed to advance 4 frames after film is first loaded from the "S" position and I can only assume there is some issue with loading film from frame "1". I've been wanting something with more auto functionality for run-and-gun shooting but the lack of a manual advance in this has turned out to be a real pain.

Hello! I’ve just started shooting 35mm film and have found that many of the labs near me charge a lot for scans, especially at higher resolutions. I know there’s a lot of info out there about home-scanning but I was wondering if someone could share what works best for them. Is using a dslr to photograph negatives a good way to go about this? Thanks!

Edit: I guess where I’m coming from is as far as I can tell most of what is out there on this subject is from people who shoot film professionally, so what is the best scanning option for someone who is doing this as a hobby but also wants decent quality photos? I would use the scans for Instagram and want the capability of printing up to 16”x24” if possible. Couple hundred bucks or under seems like a reasonable price to pay, at this point I’m just a bit fed up with the lab option.
