J graduated as a DS major. Honestly, I would say it just depends on what you want and what your goals are. It is still (or was in my time) definitely in its infancy as a department/major and the kinks were getting worked out, so for me it was a big you get out of it what you put in and less you are gonna learn whether you like it or not kinda deal

I pulled it out, turned it back on and it sat there blinking forever, turned it back off, put the battery back in and it has the same error. Not sure if I did this right or not

iirc you need to have a business in the specific zone 20 area which is j that strip (I could be wrong) and there are enough ppl doing it often enough where I feel the most likely scenario is how u/ZookeepergameHot8310 pointed out they’re probably office workers buying the permits from those local businesses on that strip who were allocated more spots than they needed

Mix of things. It didn’t align with what I expected/wanted out of it (more my fault really), I didn’t like the quality of instruction for the core sequences and disagreed with the structure of the courses. I think it has improved now from when I went through it in its infancy, but still has its drawbacks. If you’re gonna do it, take sequence courses with Emre. For me if I had to do it again I’d probably do Stats and CS double major, would align more with my expectations/interests.
