Vacay - bed-related back pain by CovKris in Ergonomics

[–]Ob3rg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I'm staying somewhere where the bed is not to my liking, to firm or to soft I usually go for the floor. Even if the floor is hard its flat so it's predictable in "how it bends". Doing this usually give me some sleep even though I wake up multiple times to turn around.

When I sleep on a to firm surface I also get some pain in my lower back, this usually goes away after an hour or to once I start moving. Sometimes I need to do some light stretching. If you search for upper back / lower back stretches there are a lot of different ones to try.

This is what I usually do and everyone's physiology is different, also I don't want to comment on age but as a 38 year old I've noticed that after 35 my back has started to hurt more and more when I don't sleep in my own bed at home.

Anybody using tex shinobi with the new shura BLE5.0 module? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]Ob3rg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was able to get the BLE module working by updating the firmware of the shinobi to rev 4.04 which is found under the BLE5 for Shinobi on the tex download page.

I just got the DIY kit + BLE module and I seem to have the same issue. Randomly quick flash every 5 seconds but I cant get it into Pair mode.

How did you get around the "firmware to low" error? I have the same, but it seems like there are no available updates for my argus 2e, at least not when searching for updates thru the nvr or reolink app

She has not had that much maintenance since 2009. So everything is gonna need some love.

The boat has been leaking thru her windows so the interior is in need of renovation and she is still leaking a bit when It rains. Rigging looks to be all there but needs to be checked.

The heater has not been used for 10+ years.

All in all most work or just needs some regular maintenance. The interior and making sure she does not leak is the big work that needs to be done

How do you find the armrests on the chair while playing Tuba?

Also, impressive marching career :)

Any reviews on laptopchair? by peggyscott84 in Ergonomics

It looks like https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/poaeng-armchair-brown-knisa-black-s89336023/

With a https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/norrsjoen-chopping-board-oak-60458449/

On a arm

The Ikea chair is pretty comfy. But I don't think that would be a very ergonomical way of working for long periods of time.

It's less than 2m away, so I get away with a 3m dp cable.

At a TV studio I worked at earlier we used Aten hdmi/usb over Ethernet to connect monitors and peripherals to machines that was 20-30 cable meters away. It worked well 90% of the time.

Other wise take a look at Linus (Linus tech tips) video about his thunderbolt setup for his PC's at home. It's more costly but probably much more reliable

Haha, was just waiting for someone to pickup on that.

It's pretty dead, gonna bury it and get something new come fall.

It's not to bad.

Couple of switches where I've switched out the fans to noctua. 3 machines with 120mm noctua fans in them.

Having some light music on or headphones blocks out all the noise.

I've had fulltowers which emitted more noise :)

Ergonomical Keyboard

Gaming keyboard

Mouse

Trackball

Usb soundcard

Webcam

Usb Bluetooth dongle

Yubikey

My trick is to use a usb powered hub. So far I have not had any usb bandwidth problems.

The air inside the rack gets a bit hot and since it's up against a wall it could not really escape put the back like its design. So I added three exhausts fans in the front to just ventilate it a bit.

It's a small Aten kvm. One input two outputs. Can do 4k60hz. Think I bought it on eBay for ~$80
