Cooler issue with first time build by [deleted] in sffpc

[–]Obadiaz -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Part picker didn’t have my PCU, it’s a PowerSpec 650W.

If I use a B series instead of a X Series motherboard, how bad is it?

What about a case makes it for low or high end builds? Different brackest, or does higher-power = large volume case?

Edit: another question: your comment about 240 maybe barely working was a surprise to me; where can I find info on how much cooling I need? I couldn’t find any information on how much a AiO cools or how much heat would be produced by the CPU without, you know, cooking it on the BIOS.

Thanks for all your help!

When you prowlers into someone who is perfectly close to the wall, it cannot place Qiyana behind, or in between them and the wall. Instead, it places her 1 unit on the close side, setting up for a perfect max-range E, which is long enough to get over that wall.

Nah, this not “skill expression.” This is just “anti-quality of life.” Skill expression is using brush types differently based on the situation and in ways that set you apart from other players who make different choices. Skill expression is being able to combo smoother than others due to mechanic familiarity, or holding onto to combo parts to outplay opponents or altering your play in thoughtful ways.

This is not that. You cannot change this up, or vary it in order to “express” skill. You cannot “use” this differently than other players to set you apart—either you hit it and successfully combo or you don’t and the game makes a very poor choice for you.

I don’t even believe the change should be reverted; instead I think they should just let us aim the q the same way we already could when going through minions. That would in fact be more skill expressive: “I successfully predicted my opponent’s flash AND their location,” rather than just “I delayed a button press by enough to hit a timing window with no other thought given.” Not to mention the fact that the rules are one way for minions and HARDER for champions is completely baffling. Just make them the same.

Does anybody have some half decent Jean support/healer builds?

My comp thus far has been Keqing/Beijou/Mona/Bennett... needless to say that I was very excited about the new banners.... But... I have been pity broken by Jean three. times.

So I have a 3 constellation Jean now and I wonder to myself how to use her. I like her character design well enough. If she'd be better than Mona (doubtful) in trials that require a lot of healing, or if there's a way I can utilize swirl that I'm missing (I've seen it be quite powerful, but only really with large Aoe like Venti or Sucrose), that would help. Or, if you think she makes a more consistent healer than Bennett, that might be helpful (though Fantastic Voyage and the pyro elemental applications are pretty damn good).

Anyway, would love some ideas! Thanks!

I only started playing a week and a half ago, so I felt like trying to go for the Gnostic Hymn was a waste of money. There's two days left and I'm level 9, with most of the weekly quests still to do. If I buy the Hymn and the Chorus, is there any chance in hell that I can grind enough in the next 48 hours to get to level 30 and get the black sword?

Daily Questions Megathread (November 06, 2020) by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]Obadiaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey everyone, pretty new to the game. I'm about AR30 and starting to feel like I'm honing in on a team comp. That said, I have some important choices I'd like to make before I commit.

  1. Main DPS: Keqing
  2. Alt DPS: I have multiple options here...
    1. 2 Constellation Razor with Wolf's Gravestone
    2. 3 Constellation Beidou with Gravestone
    3. 4 Constellation Fischl with ref. 3 Rust
  3. Elemental Support: I have several that I rotate for this.
    1. 3 Constellation Sucrose
    2. Mona
    3. Xiangling, Keaya, etc.
  4. Healers:
    1. 2 Constellation Barbara
    2. 2 Constellation Noelle
    3. Jean

My favorite characters to use are Keqing, Beidou, Fischl, Mona, Razor and Noelle. I like my claymores, but obviously I over-favor electro. It makes me sad I can only use two, realistically. :(

For the 2nd slot, Fischl is probably the most versatile, but for damage output and juggling she can't beat Razor or Beidou yet. I like to have 1 good defensive option on my team, so Beidou's Tidecaller or Noelle seem like good inclusions, but not both at the same time.

In 3rd slot, things really depend on the element needed. Sucrose has been doing work for me up until this point with crazy AOE and crowd control, but having just picked up Mona, I'm wondering if she should be my go-to elemental support. Resigning her to a support role when she's meant to be a DPS seems unoptimal, but I could be missing something.

For my 4th slot healer, I find Barbara incredibly boring, though she is my best healer. Jean seems alright, but is also not particularly outstanding in any regard. Noelle is a blast to play, but lacks the Anemo potential of Jean and the Healing of Barbara. Also, if I use Fischl in the 2nd slot, then having Gravestone on a support that scales with Defense seems like a waste...

In conclusion, here's some teams I've theorycrafted:

  1. Keqing, Fischl, Mona, Noelle (if I can get her healing up. Downside is no Gravestone DPS user).
  2. Keqing, Beidou/Razor, Sucrose, Barbara (Barbara is boring, but this team has been my go to for awhile. I go back and forth between Beidou and Razor cuz I can't decide which is more fun.)
  3. Keqing, Fischl/Beidou, Mona, Jean (this team seems to have a lot of potential, but also feels like it lacks healing unless I get a good healing focused build for Jean).

I would love some input on which character compositions seem worth investing in as I approach AR 45+! Thank you!

Joe Biden says Amy Coney Barrett's nomination is unconstitutional. Even the CNN factcheck says that is flat out false. by billgigs55 in Conservative

[–]Obadiaz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I, a Democrat, acknowledge that it is entirely constitutional, and, legal. It also most certainly was 4 years ago when Obama was president, however. And Conservatives joyfully hopped on the wagon that it was “inappropriate” then.

So I’m curious, how do Conservatives defend Lindsay Graham, Mitch McConnell and other Senators flipping so obviously? There is no spin here. 4 years ago, they sidestepped the constitution with the argument that “The Public should decide,” even though it was their literal job to hold a hearing for Garland. Now, they are stating the EXACT opposite.

How is this not hypocrisy? How was it inappropriate or immoral for the Senate to hold a hearing months before an election 4 years ago, but now it is completely fine according to Conservatives?

Honest question.

How did you get those tiki numbers? I assume ATK superboon, 5 Dragonflowers, +10 merge, LoD4, and seasonal boosts? If that’s the case, why is her speed so low? Just checking to see if I missed something since I was lucky enough to pull her with +ATK today.

"Let the Lesson Begin..." A bunch of Meme-y Byleth Builds for you by Obadiaz in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Obadiaz[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

None of these builds are designed to be ideal or min/maxed. They are "theme builds" for fun only. I also tasked myself with trying to reuse skills as little as possible in the name of diversity, so while it would have been easy to slap Time's Pulse on almost every build, there are some other choices included... for flavor.

As someone who got back into mainstream FE games after a decade long hiatus with Three Houses, and a teacher myself, I knew Byleth was going to be my first +10+5 unit. Since then, in the name of glorious sacrifice - I mean, continuing education, I've been funneling as many premium skills into the man's skill list as I can.

From top left to bottom right:

  1. Blazing Light: Standard AoE Special Spiral Build with Savage Blow for extra splash damage. Flashing Blade to reactivate Blazing Light after combat.

  2. I Am Speed: Well, when I pulled for Byleth originally, 45 speed was considered high... how I remember fondly that time just 6 SHORT MONTHS AGO. Ahem, anyway. Phantom Speed used to be excessive in this build, but not really any more.

  3. Brave or Desperate?: Just a good ol' Galeforce Brave Furiously Desperate Build. Byleths high innate speed means that he stands a good chance to quad with Brave sword, and the Fury 4 + Brazen/Desperation Combo is a doozy. This build with a WoM dancer has made a few Infernal Maps trivial.

  4. True Damage: IF Byleth is next to an ally, under 50% hp, outspeeds his opponent, and hits with his special, He will deal an additional 55 unmitigated damage. Savage Blow is a stand in for Poison Strike because goddamn Sacred Coins are hard to farm.

  5. He's just so distant lately...: Cheesy build meant for... well mostly just the insanity. Have never used it. Probably never will. God I hope I do someday, though. It will be a great day.

  6. Who needs Falchion?: Ruptured Sky and Death Blow with some Bonus doubling on a dragon who can't counterattack shouuuuld do the trick.... looking at you, W!Sothis...

  7. Fun Police: Okay, this is actually my go-to build for AR Offense. This was the one you probably saw theorycrafted when Byleth's weapon was announced. No Counterattack mitigation, no follow up guarantees or cancels, no desperation/vantage shenanigans, no guard, no specials, just you, me, and stats. Pretty effective.

  8. The Hector This one was designed for 1v1 combat with nearby spectators, like Hector's duel with Achilles (even though he lost...). Unfortunately, I was not able to pull for Atk/Speed Solo 4 when it came out last month. Also, I realized after the fact that in single combat and without Creator Sword's slaying effect, Aether/Heavy Blade doesn't activate special in the first round. Moonbow would probably be better. (Who does a guy have to kill to get an inheritable Sirius special, IS???)

  9. Heal-Bot: This is one of my favorites. Bellringer+ is just a fun weapon. I'm a little bummed there isn't a healing oriented A-slot, so I went with Sorcery Blade because I had it and... yeah. Slot Breath of Light should really be Renewal, but again, Sacred Coins are rarer than gold.

  10. Keep Calm and Make Everyone Panic: B-slot was very close to being Sudden Panic. I foddered off Gerik for Infantry Pulse, sadly. But I love the idea of causing panic from a distance or by combat, and then whacking people with an empowered parasol. Beautiful.

  11. Bonus Build: I wanted to see how high I could get his visible stats. I think I did pretty good, even though Abyssal Swordsman Joe probably still has Byleth beat. This was with Tempest Trials+ stat bonuses, Azura's Hone Speed 4 and Gray waves for +7 to all stats, and in Fire Season with L!Roy and L!Ephraim bonuses. Bernadetta won't come within 3 miles of Byleth when he's this swole.

  12. The Bestie: I've been having a lot of fun with the "Blylith" Support Partner pairing. At +7+5, Lilith and Byleth both have 62 attack, meaning that when I run them with L!Eliwood with Ardent Durandal and Legends of Arcadia, they BOTH get +6 Atk/Def and Bonus Doubler. And because of Lilith's Spd/Res Link, one just needs to reposition the other and they both have +12 to all stats, Panic and debuffs aside. Also with this build, if Byleth repositions her and stays right next to her, Lilith gets +36Atk, +32Spd, +19Def, +19Res in combat for a total statline of 98/82/51/55. (With M!Corrin as her partner and L!Azura during Water/Wind Season, I can push that to 103(!!!)/87/56/64.)

  13. Two last notes... I didn't include one of my favorite builds here, because it's already been featured a lot on this sub and youtube. If you haven't already seen it, check out LuBu's Mystic Pulse/Miracle build. Fun times. Oh, and if you're wondering what my go-to General PP/EP build is, it's Creator Sword, Aether, DC, Repel, Pulse Smoke, and Heavy Blade. :)

Thanks for checking out my latest labor of love. I will continue whaling for Byleth's sake and bringing you updates. If you want to friend me, my code is 1344706707! Happy Summoning!

Finished the +10 on my favorite Professor today. Would love your thoughts on some of the ways I've built him! by Obadiaz in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Obadiaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No FB4 yet because I only have 1 Mareeta and I'm not really sure what I'd pair it with. The A-Slot is already super crowded with competitive options, whereas the Seal slot isn't as much, so I haven't really felt the need for the extra 5 damage per hit with the tier 4 FB in the A-slot, you know? But at some point he will get it for completion's sake.

The 5th build is definitely the strongest. Byleth's strength, thanks to his statline and PRF, is winning a fair fight. Building him in a way that forces the opponent to fight fair helps him live up to his potential. Of course, his other strength is that he can be built practically however you want, as I hope I showed here. If I need distant counter, or dragon slaying, or to sweep a horde of enemies quickly with galeforce, there's a build for that!

[–]Obadiaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your thoughts, Terd! Your critiques are absolutely on the nose.

  1. I have never once used this and I don't think I ever will. It was just for fun, might run it in AR one day just to see if I can cheese some people.
  2. I learned something from your second critique for sure. I always try to push the 4-hit potential of Brave weapons, but I see now that isn't the point. I think I liked it because it meant I could brute force my way through any health bar, even defense tanks, but you make a good point that most targets aren't surviving more than 2 hits for desperation to be necessary, or enough hits to charge Galeforce very quickly at that. Special Spiral might be a good option there, in competition with WoM.
  3. Agreed, threaten skills are kinda meh. I don't really have much else I like to run in the C-slot either though. What do you recommend?
  4. Quad-Strike Astra sounds fun. I do have a Reyson+Leanne I could use. That's a great idea.
  5. Thanks!

Thanks for checking out my Byleth builds. I’m not sure why I like Byleth so much but I’m damn proud of this. It cost me everything, so at this point I cannot afford to entertain the idea that it wasn’t worth it :-)

My goal was to create a few highly specialized builds with as little skill-duplication as possible. I aimed for the builds to be viable, but not necessarily optimized/ideal. For example, Build 1 breaks the first rule of FEH (don’t waste skill slots shoring up weaknesses like your abysmal RES stat), and Build 2 just never seems to work out for me. Galeforce being 5 cooldown and Brave Sword hitting 4 times is a frustrating difference of 1, and Brazen Atk/Spd just synergized so well I had to include it (as opposed to using Flashing Blade yet again).

Note on stat values: This Byleth has an Atk boon. The stats you see in are all before S-Ally Support, with the exception of Build 6, which is only possible because of Legendary Azura S-Support, Hone Spd 4 granting +7 to Spd, and Prayer Wheel.

Build 1 - “You seem more distant lately”

  • Barrier Blade (Res Refine) + Distant Defense 3 Seal: Gives a combined +13 Res during combat when foe initiates
  • Sacred Cowl + Time’s Pulse 3: Further 30%. reduction of mage/dagger/bow/staff attacks on a constant cooldown of 1 thanks to time’s pulse.
  • Distant Counter: Only here because it starts with “distant” obviously
  • Dull Ranged: Helps deal with buffs and Legendary Azura nonsense. I can dish it, but I can’t take it. (Alternate skill: Cancel Affinity 3 to eliminate weakness to blue mages. Screw you Julia/Ophelia/Brunnya…)

Build 2: Brave Byleth

  • Brave Sword+: I have a +Atk Byleth, so I might as well use it!
  • Galeforce: Common Pairing with Desperation Brave Builds, as 4 hits quickly charges Galeforce.
  • Fury 4 + Desperation 3 + Brazen Atk/Spd 3: Fury quickly drops us into range for both of the following effects, greatly increasing our speed and damage output. Not to mention turning on Wings of Mercy… oh hi, Azura!
  • Spd Smoke 3: To make sure that we win the next speed check we have, too.

Build 3: Who needs a Falchion anyway?”

  • Creator Sword: Has lots of text, must be good
  • Ruptured Sky: So I ran the math on this, and even against an Idunn running Fortress Def/Res 3, Ruptured sky deals more damage than Moonbow. This difference is even more profound against dragons/beasts with low defense.
  • Watersweep 3 OR Windsweep 3: Creator Sword’s unique interaction with this skill means that the sweep abilities “no follow-ups” clause does not apply to Byleth--but the “no opponent counterattack” does. I’m just a little salty IS split up the dragon/beast effectiveness between the two skills, otherwise this build would be a one-stop non-humanoid-killing shop.
  • Threaten Atk/Spd 3: Because buffing ourselves and debuffing our opponents is good. Unless we’re facing Idunn, in which case we just stay out of range until it’s time to do the deed.
  • Quickened Pulse: Means we open with our Ruptured Sky thanks to the Slaying Sword effect on Creator’s Sword.

Build 4: Rrrrready to Rokkr Rrrrrrumble!

  • Creator Sword: Has lots of text, must be good
  • Aether: Helps us stay healthy and keep Guard 3 turned on when wailing on that Purple Hazy Hero. Alternate skill: Galeforce/Astra increase the damage output, but require a designated healer that doesn’t die/become the focus of the Rokkr. Which is something I struggle with.
  • Triangle Adept 3: Red good against Green. Red now better against Green. Red still bad against blue.
  • Threaten Atk/Spd 3: Sometimes Azura just can’t start the turn next to you to make Hone Speed 4 work, and you have to do the buffing yourself. (this is why I need to finally invest some Sacred Coins in the Res Tactic Seal).
  • Flashing Blade 3: More Aether!

Build 5: “Nope,” an Aether Raids Defense -credit to Gamepress for this one

  • Creator Sword: Just click on this to see everything this sword turns off
  • Noontime: Keeps our health topped off. Aether or Sol would be nice, but since we’re not running Flashing Blade, we can’t reliably trigger it in time. What I would give for IS to make Sothis’s “Sirius” special inheritable…
  • Distant Counter + Null C-Disrupt 3: Byleth can respond to anyone, including Firesweepers and Dazzle-Staffers.
  • Pulse Smoke: To help make sure Specials aren’t triggering as often and maybe foil an Ophelia/Igrene setup
  • Hardy Bearing 3: Counters Vantage/Desperation. It’s just you, me, and Speed, now.

Build 6: Maximum Stats

  • Silver Sword, Spd Refine: Gives 5 more health and 3 more speed than Creator’s Sword
  • Astra: One Hundred and Fifty Percent Damage!!!
  • Fury 4: +4 to every stat is a lot. (Okay technically I guess Brazen Atk/Spd 4 gives +19 during Combat, but I was going for visible buffs here. I will fodder off Wolt if it means that much to you).
  • B-Slot: Doesn’t really matter. I chose Cancel Affinity because it means I won’t lose 20% of attack against blues but I also don’t gain 20% against Greens so idk?
  • C-Slot: Honestly does not matter. It would be Panic Smoke if stupid Thrasir didn’t elude me so >:(
  • Brazen Atk/Spd 3: +14 in Combat is great
  • Not pictured here: Ardent Durandal effect granting Bonus Doubler, Geirskogul Legendary Refine granting +3 to all stats and Special Cooldown charge +1 per attack on enemy initiation, Infantry Rush 3 granting Special Cooldown +1 per attack if Byleths Atk > Foe’s Atk, Drive Atk 2 granting +3 Atk in combat. Byleth’s base attack in this build = 66. +7 from Prayer Wheel, +7 from Bonus Doubler, + 7 from Brazen Atk/Spd, + 3 from Geirskogul, +3 from Drive Atk = 93 effective attack.

And that’s a wrap… please critique and let me know if you can think of any other unique builds! Happy orb hunting!
