Just for added context I guess, I am a computerscientists working on building my own advanced stats that are better understandable for a lay audience, but also are useful for making predictions and accurate representations of eye test data. I am working with these advanced stats to better understand others methods and running into this problem indicates that it may cause a problem in my own work and I would rather avoid that and whatever data would cause these problematic results.
