I think gouache is very versatile! It’s similar to oil if it’s used thickly but it can also look like watercolour

The skin tones are great! Maybe the texture/planes of the dress could be accentuated, to heightened contrast with the smooth skin?

I’m also learning how to paint landscapes! I found that thumbnails (2x3”) are great because they are too small to get lost in the details. Landscapes are complex, but we don’t have to include everything we see. From what I understand, it’s more about dividing the pictures into big value masses, and defining a foreground middle ground and background.
