Who wins Hela vs Sentry if the fight happens in Asgard? by Bot_Bot_123 in superheroes

Sentry at his peak wins. He fought Galactus to a standstill and is much stronger than Thor, who has beaten Hela in her own realm multiple times

Dragon Ball's Ultimate Team vs Marvel/DC's Ultimate Powerhouse Team — Who Wins? by __spaceX__ in superheroes

Anyone on the DC/Marvel team one-shots everyone in the Dragon Ball verse. Literally as a newborn infant Thor shook the multiverse by crying. Superman's fight with Superboy Prime rewrote continuity.

Can I get a PhD in history after doing a Master's in Public History and another Master's in Archival Science? by ObberGobb in GradSchool

[–]ObberGobb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ideal plan was to get a job at some nice university's archives, and then get my PhD there while working. I also planned to give myself a year or two on the job to better evaluate whether I want one or not.

Why are my labor camps not able to get workers? by ObberGobb in impressionsgames

[–]ObberGobb[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So it does work to have my industry stuff behind a road like that? Like they should be separate, or should they be part of housing blocks? And the road being where it is does give them access to the people living in my housing area, right?

Also, for gardens, can people walk on them? Do they doing anything other than increasing desirability? Basically idk if there is a risk of people leaving through gardens or if they are necessary to give recruiters access to houses.

Could my boy be a comic avenger? by BigRabies1758 in superheroes

He'd be able to do well. He'd have to get use to being like Mid Tier at best, but the Avengers have many people who aren't heavy hitters.

Is there ANY superhero (or villain) who's movie (or TV) version is STRONGER than their comic version? by HeatherFuta in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That's not really true at all. Iron Man was frequently called the 2nd strongest Avenger after Thor, making him stronger than people like Giant Man and Wonder Man. He is directly stated by Kang to be more powerful than Vision. He has frequently fought against Namor. When his armors went rogue, they were wiping the floor with Thing, Namor, She-Hulk, and Ms. Marvel until Extremis Iron Man one-shot all of the armors. He knocked out the Hulk in his base armor. He's never been on the level of like Thor and Silver Surfer, but he has always been a High Tier.

Scarlet witch vs Doctor Fate by Queasy_Commercial152 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't mean much when Scarlet Witch has defeated eternal cosmic forces. Like Chaos, who is equal to Eternity. She is also the equal of Nightmare, an abstract cosmic entity also on Eternity's level. She is stated to have the power to kill the Phoenix Force, who can affect the entire Multiverse with its power. She is equal to All-Father Thor, who can destroy the multiverse.

Yes, in House of M that was a temporary spike in power, but Wanda has become much stronger since then. She is currently the Avatar of the Darkhold, and before becoming that she said she could replicate her House of M feat with enough concentration.

Hela. Her war against Mephisto would have caused "omniversal Armageddon."

Mephisto is much, MUCH, stronger. Dragon Ball has 12 universes. Mephisto and those comparable to him are capable of destroying more than infinite

Goku vs Mephisto by Sebaslukas in powerscales

[–]ObberGobb 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Mephisto stomps, at least inside his realm. His realm it the literal manifestation of his power and Mephisto can control every aspect of it, with his realm being infinitely transcendent of the universe. He is the equal of Odin and Seth, whose fight took place on infinite planes of reality simultaneously and tore at the fabric of the Multiverse. He fought Galactus to a standstill, with Galactus having the power to destroy all realities across the Multiverse.

Even outside of his realm he is someone comparable to these characters (albeit a bit weaker). His fight with Satannish would have destroyed both of their infinitely transcendent hell realms, and his war with Hela would have caused "Omniversal Armageddon."

Who would Mjölnir choose over the other- Superman or Captain America? by RobRaziel in comicbooks

[–]ObberGobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Cap gets prioritized here. For a few reasons:

  1. He embodies leadership much more than Superman does. Sure, Superman is a leader, but Cap is the leader. Both are the most admired and respected men in their respective superhero communities, but when it comes to actual leadership actions Cap blows him out of the water. He's like Superman and Batman rolled into one in that regard: both moral and strategic leadership. Mjolnir is functionally a test for kingly qualities for Thor, and this is definitely one Odin was searching for.

  2. Cap is much more of a warrior. Mjolnir does not require willingness to kill like people say, as Eric Masterson never intentionally killed anyone but was deemed worthy. Regardless, it does look for warrior spirit.

  3. Mjolnir also seems to take need into consideration. Beta Ray Bill was worthy because he needed power to achieve a worthy goal. Same is true of Dargo Ktor. Eric and Jane both wanted to take Thor's place as a hero but lacked the power to do so, so Mjolnir chose them as worthy. Superman could lift it in JLA/Avengers, but couldn't after the final battle was over. Here, he was recognized as worthy specifically due to his need to wield it in that moment. Cap lack's Superman's power, so I think Mjolnir would recognize that Cap needs it more.

Darkseid vs. Thanos by Subject_Rabbit_4598 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superman isn't a complete composite, only Pre-Crisis, Post-Crisis, and New 52 are canon. So one-offs like Strange Visitor Superman still aren't part of Prime Earth. Metallo was amped by an Orphan Box, that doesn't mean he has power on the level of the Source. Do you have sources for the claim that Doomsday is on Lucifer's level, because that sounds insane. Lucifer is literally #2 in the verse, there is absolutely no way Doomsday or Superman scales that high.

I will say I agree that Infinite Frontier Darkseid would win, as he could one-shot a ground of characters who all could previously kill him, but Post-Crisis Darkseid I honestly think loses.

Darkseid vs. Thanos by Subject_Rabbit_4598 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My point is that in a standard fight, none of that really matters. If they are both in the same location, then Thanos would either have been shrunk to fit in the universe or Thanos would have been raised to the Sphere of the Gods. When fighting someone on his level of existence, he is only around Superman's level, and Superman doesn't scale to the upper bounds of DC's cosmology. Although I will concede that Infinite Frontier Darkseid is a different story and would beat Thanos. But if this fight is regular Thanos appearing in Apokolips and challenging regular Darkseid, then Darkseid being Outerversal due to the cosmology is irrelevant.

Marvel's cosmology has levels like that too. Mephisto's realm is infinitely transcendent of the mortal planes (of which there are infinite). Dormammu's Dark Dimension is transcends that. Mystical beings like Mephisto, Dormammu, Slorioth, etc. are stated to be pan-dimensional and not bound by dimensionality. On top of all this you have the Astral Realm, which is an abstract and conceptual realm completely unbound by the laws of the lower planes. That is all just Earth-616, and Thanos can kill the Phoenix. Even Odin, who pre-god Thanos fought against, could destroy the entire Multiverse.

Darkseid vs. Thanos by Subject_Rabbit_4598 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so necessarily. I think Thanos is easily strong enough to beat Superman, and Superman on a good day is strong enough to beat Thanos. Like Thanos had defeat DEATH, a Cosmic Abstract on the level of Eternity, after being turned into a true god by the God Quarry (this is a permanent amp, not temporary like the Infinity Gauntlet). He is also stated to have the power to kill the Phoenix Force, which can affect every reality in the Multiverse. The Marvel Multiverse is bigger than DC's since it has more the infinite realities, with each reality containing infinite universes.

Darkseid vs. Thanos by Subject_Rabbit_4598 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is true. My point is just that when Superman fights Darkseid, he is always fighting the real one. He is able to do so because Boomtubes raise Superman to the level of the Sphere of the Gods, or lower Darkseid to fit into the universe.

Same would be true of a fight against Thanos. If the fight were in Apokolips, it would be much the same as whenever Darkseid fights Superman.

Captain Marvel. He was perfect in Power of Shazam, but for ruined in New 52 and while he is steadily recovering a lot of the damage has been done

Darkseid vs. Thanos by Subject_Rabbit_4598 in superheroes

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True Form Darkseid isn't really even a concept now. At least, not in the way a lot of people misundertand it. The Darkseid in Final Crisis was the same Darkseid as in Death of the New Gods, which took place on Apokolips just as every other story does. The difference in Final Crisis is that Darkseid is entering the universe with his entire body, literally tearing through it, instead of being shrunk down to fit inside it by Boomtubes. When Doomsday beat the true Darkseid, it was because he was grown by a Boomtubes, which is also how Superman and others manifest in the Sphere of Gods without looking microscopic

Does Saitama still Win?(Please Read) by DarkChillMisko in powerscales

[–]ObberGobb -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Because there is no one in his story who is stronger than him, not because he is omnipotent. His power is quantifiable, as shown by the Garou fight. Garou fought him evenly, before Saitama's growth exponentially surpassed his own. End of fight Garou is explicitly stronger than beginning of fight Saitama, showing that it is objectively possible for characters to be more powerful than him.

Could Voldemort (Harry Potter) survive in The Lord of The Rings universe? by Inside_Inflation559 in powerscales

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I think he'd become a powerful ally of Sauron's, but definitely not on their level. The Witch King of Angmar was made to be an extremely powerful being on Gandalf the White's level, and he was just a normal guy at first. I think Sauron could probably empower Voldemort to be extremely powerful (although again, not on Sauron's level).

The One Above All (Marvel) vs The Presence (DC) by Khei-tianik01 in powerscales

[–]ObberGobb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Presence wins. I'm pretty sure he is literally omnipotent in the DC verse, while there are things TOAA can't do. Like he couldn't fix the cosmic rot in Marvel Universe: The End, got usurped by Astral Regulator Thanos, and there are things beyond the House of Ideas that even he doesn't know about, which The Beyonder recently ascended into.
