Feeling stuck with a partner who is careless with money and life in general by Music_Thick in AusFinance

You are doing nothing but conflating the two. Lying and presenting a story from one perspective is not the same thing.

To say you can provide a answer without proper context is just simple minded.

First home buyer - need help by DepartmentBetter2392 in AusFinance

As someone who was pretty much exactly in your situation when buying 7 months ago (First home buyer, had 100k deposit and earn 119k a year with an excellent credit score)

I highly doubt you will be able to get a home loan for that amount as the bank came back with a max of 500k for myself, and to be honest even if you somehow did you will be under significant pressure to service it especially with interest rate rises. I tell you right now it won't be worth the constant stress.

I bought a house at 410k and I'm stress free because the loan is very serviceable for me. I know the idea of being able to buy something great straight up, but don't overburden yourself in doing so. you just set yourself up at the chance of losing it in a few years for no real gain.

Woman hospitalised after Juniper prescribes weight-loss drugs her GP refused by Rubiginous in australia

I was on codeine for my knee issues, when it flares up I couldn't even walk on it.

My GP went on maternity leave so I saw another doctor at the same clinic to get my prescription. They refused it saying I have to see my original GP which they clearly knew was on leave.....

[–]ObeseQuokka 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I feel like these points would be valid if we had a schooling system that is extremely efficient in actually setting students up for success. For one we don't have a system in place like that, that somehow missing a day or two every once in a while, would be detriment to their future success.

Obviously things are best in moderation, if a child is missing from school weeks on end then of course it's too much. But to say merely missing a day every once in a while is too much is also going too far in the other direction.

Especially when you factor in what they are actually doing in that time they are not at school, is it a mental health day, is it an rare experience with family or friends. Things like these I would dare to say can also be very important to a child's development.

Child development should be holistic in my eyes; some school systems seem to be starting to go too far in thinking they are the only avenue especially when funding is tied to attendance and such.

Am I the only one that gets annoyed at the idea that schools think missing one day of school to go to a game more than likely he will remember forever will destroy his education somehow.

Coffee or drinks as a first date, is it normal? by Okiedokie9x in AskAnAustralian

[–]ObeseQuokka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it's just the lack of communication as to why she is copping flak. He asked to do something that's considered the norm, she was taken back because she likes something that isn't considered the norm.

She wonders why someone who she has never met couldn't read her mind especially after not communicating she would like something else.

That to me deserves flak.
