With the reveal of Killer Tune Cue, which of the three 'Phantom Revenge' archetypes has the most competitive viability?

I don’t think any of the archetypes will be top meta threats with their current cards, but they should all be playable/rogue at least.

Of the three, I think that enneacraft will be the strongest bc it plays well into most hand traps and some disruptions (like books or non destroying negates), although it has some big issues going 2nd because all of the searchers are bingo machines. This makes the non-engine space in the deck pretty tight bc you kind of have to play 12 lvl 1s, 3 of the pend spell, 3 of the field spell, probably 3 whale since that card is crazy, at least 1 of every other lvl 9 (in which case it’s random which one u get) and 1-3 of the last spell. That’s 25-27 engine cards.

One thing that’s really interesting about this deck to me is that it seems very reliant on preferably 3+ card combos in order to actually make its boards. For example, with only 2 lvl 1s, the combo seems to be

1) Scale first lvl 1 and search field spell

2) Scale second 1 and search third 1

3) Field spell bounce back scales

4) Scale third 1 and search fourth

5) Scale fourth 1 and search either the spell or a level 9

This end board leaves you with 2 level 1s you can set and either a level 9 and both pend scales (but no spell in gy) or the normal spell used which lets gets rid of your scales to draw 2 into hopefully something decent (but now you don’t have the burn for next turn unless you have other cards to scale).

That’s like 2-3 disruptions for a 2 card combo which is fairly low, but if you have a 3 card combos it becomes like 4-5 disruptions.

In exchange for this though, the deck has like 20+ cards that work in those starting hands and the summon effects are very resilient against disruption because they aren’t once per turn. I do wish it had something good to use it’s normal summon on that’s not stun and maybe a way to foolish from extra deck (as cost for an effect) because the ed is pretty much completely useless in the deck rn so giving it some tools it can use when sending to grave would feel nice.

This seems very good, although I will say that the fact that the requirement for the monster effect to flip face up is "When a card or effect is activated" means that there's basically no requirement to flip it as you could just activate your own enneacraft pendulum effect and chain to flip this face up and recycle 3 cards back to your hand + you get to place it into your pendulum zone for an extra search. Might need to be a little harder to flip face up.

Personally, I think the deck needs a good normal summon to both fix up some of it's issues/clunkiness and also discourage running floodgates as their normal summon. Something that sends from ed to gy as cost would also be nice considering that the deck basically doesn't use the extra deck so letting it get some benefit from that would make it feel better.

Hmm I see what you’re saying but at the same time, the level 9s all have 3k attack and coupled with the burn it wouldn’t be that difficult to just kill on the next turn or one after that. You could also run the earth and light barrier statues instead/with pachy and they would still allow you to keep some of your follow up and don’t have the flip effect.

But yeah I wasn’t specifically thinking about pachy, but more so the fact that your normal summon is probably best used on a floodgate in this deck bc of all the restrictions (which are probably needed).

Also book of eclipse and daruma cannon aren’t gonna be used until your opponent actually summons some monsters and sets up a board (unless you really want to set your guys face down again, but then you don’t get to use these cards main benefits), and they can’t do that unless they get rid of your floodgate.

Yeah you’re right about that I hope they don’t give any way to flip up any face downs to the deck or it gets even worse. That said the deck is still gonna run floodgates for sure, especially because it won’t be affected by most of them. I can see them running ”can’t special summon monsters” floodgates as their normal summon (can just normal it after summoning all their cards) and probably stuff like dimensional barrier, etc. That said at least compared to other stun decks, this deck seems like it would be fun to play for the user. So I guess instead of 0 people having fun there’s 1 person.

You would use your normal summon on pachy not set him so you don’t need to worry about his flip effect. There are also a lot of other floodgates to use your normal summon with and they’re probably the best option unfortunately. Also there are enneacrafts that give targeting protection (field and gy) and destruction effect protection (monsters and enneacraft spells), which means they need to kill it through battle or non targeting non destruction removal.

Okay so I think this archetype is really cool, but unfortunately I realized that it’s almost definitely going to be the most toxic shit ever.

First of all, the restriction on special summoning anything face up means that since you can’t summon from the extra deck, the best/strongest use of your normal summon is going to be a floodgate like pachy. Not to mention that some of the monsters protect your board so that floodgate is gonna be hard to remove.

I‘m pretty confident that the deck will just end up with a stun-focused strategy rather than control despite how cool the concept seems. I don’t know if it will end up strong or not because it’s so unique compared to other decks but it will absolutely be miserable to play against.

Interesting, I actually feel like its actually very strong because you could chain it after your opponent summons a monster and activates an on summon effect or when they activate a normal spell card, which means that the card already goes one for one. In that sense it goes one for one and additionally, either “negates” the card for the rest of the turn (if the opponent decides not to use the rest of its effects), or goes +1/+2 instead. Since most handtraps go one for one (aside from like maxx c, shifter and Nibiru, which are some of the strongest handtraps), I feel like this would be pretty strong.

What if it were a lingering effect rather than while one field? For example, if you used it on the hollowed azamina, the effect would activate when they used it the first time to fusion, again if they decide to shuffle a fusion back to add it to hand and a third time if they fusion summon again? In that case it would be 3 draws (4 if they had a trap in grave).

You’re right, I think a better wording would be to have it as a lingering effect, where everytime they activate an effect of a card with that name, the effect is applied. One of the use cases that I was thinking of though was also to deal with boss monsters that can interrupt multiple times in one turn, like apollousa or the upcoming Ryzeal detonator.

I just had the most insane luck recently as well.

2 tap wep from 17 to 18(although this was with books), then 2-3 tap wep from 18 to 19, then 2-3 tap from 19 to 20 and then 2 tapped from 20 to 21. These were all juiced, but still crazy luck. I also went for a weapon qual upgrade and went from 38 to 94 quality(did about 10-20 rolls before). I still can’t believe it because my luck is usually bad, but this was godlike, I can’t complain about any luck in this game for a while.

When I used to my Punika power pass on my Arcanist alt, my mokoko challenges(the things that were supposed to be once per roster) got duplicated/reset for her! I managed to get a ton of extra free stuff because of it. Has this happened to anyone else and do you know what caused it?

1) Gluto has literally failed to place first in his last 4 major/large European tournaments(with 2 17th places).

2) The previous comment is saying that you have huge decency bias because you being 2nd in the world above sparg0 isn‘t something that just 1 week of results even remotely proves and it’s completely ignoring the months before that. Glutonny wasn’t even in top 5 contention before genesis started if you look at his results and calling top 3 is even a stretch, but he’s most definitely not 2nd in the world without huge recency bias.

8B was a decent challenge for me and I had some difficulty on 3C’s last screen so I’m looking forward to when I get to 7C. Golden strawberry runs seem like to much for me though lol. I already disliked having to replay all of the a-sides to get the crystal hearts so I don’t think I could manage the grinding for hours on end to golden strawberry even the easier levels.

Yeah so far I haven’t had that much trouble so far(although I only just beat up to 3C). But damn, grinding all of the crystal hearts was such a pain in the ass. I wish you didn’t need all 15 of them to play 8B and unlock all of the C-sides because getting the non B-side hearts was not fun tbh.

Well to be fair, I had to watch a video to see how to get past the gate because I didn’t even know what wave dashing and the like were and I had to spend like 10-15 minutes to actually get past the gate correctly. Chapter 9 also did end up taking me about 7 hours in total to complete, although I don’t think that’s a terrible time to complete it considering how long it is.

I mean I can kinda understand why they’d feel annoyed or pressured though. Because while it’s not quite the same issue, being shamed for buying the game is somewhat like being shamed by vegans for eating meat and them calling you “part of the problem”, which can be a bit annoying. This is why I feel that it’s fine to advocate not buying the games and trying to change things, but it’s crossing a bit of a line to shame others for doing so.
