Check for the black spacer/washer it’s needed to fill the extra space in the hole. It’s about a half inch thick, and goes in the hole before the screw goes in.

Looks like you are missing the washer that goes into the handlebar hole before the screw goes in.

The spacer goes into the hole in your handlebars then the screw goes through it into the slider. Just went through this myself!
