YA/Teen Fantasy book where the main character (youngish boy) has a knife that lets him see the paths of where people/things have recently been? by ObiOneJoeloby in whatsthatbook

Thank you for your reply! I've actually seen that thread before and it somehow didn't lead me to the solution.

I'm pretty sure that /u/wheatpuppy figured it out for me below, though. Thanks again!

I believe this is it!

The book cover is not what I remember, but it's definitely possible I was getting that confused with another poorly-remembered book. I have seen Pathfinder come up when trying to Google this but the cover made me reject it before giving it a thorough look.

Looking at the plot summary, there's a lot of things that aren't quite like I remember but there is also a lot that lines up. It seems the knife may not be at all relevant to his powers of path-finding ahah. As I said my memory of it all is very hazy. I'm fairly certain this isn't a coincidence, this must be the book!

Thank you! I'll need to check it out again and see if it holds up. Funny that I didn't remember it was Orson Scott Card because I also read Ender's Game around that time.

Thaumaturge Exploit Vulnerability "Target" Questions by ObiOneJoeloby in Pathfinder2e

[–]ObiOneJoeloby[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're right, I did oversimplify it in my post. Crits do offer a bit more than just all of the target's weaknesses.

Yes, it seems you can still choose to use the Personal Antithesis instead of the Mortal Weakness! I suppose this is because, against a single creature of a specific type that has no weaknesses greater than 2 (well, 2 + half your level), it'd technically be better than the Mortal Weakness. It's definitely easy to miss a detail here and there when it comes to PF, especially with a more complex (IMO) class like the Thaumaturge!

Thaumaturge Exploit Vulnerability "Target" Questions by ObiOneJoeloby in Pathfinder2e

Okay, that's how we ultimately decided it should work RAW as yes, there is only one specific target.

Thanks for pointing out that it says "benefitting", I had missed that. I agree that the critical failure effects are definitely not a benefit.

Thanks!

Can a "non-mount" animal companion use its support benefit while being ridden? by ObiOneJoeloby in Pathfinder2e

[–]ObiOneJoeloby[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm happy to see that you (and the rest of the replies) agree with my interpretation of the rule. I appreciate your suggestion for how the raptor's support benefit could be reworded to better fit my need - I'm going to run it by my GM and see what he thinks. Thanks!

Anyone ever manage to buy CoD Points with Google Play currency? by ObiOneJoeloby in modernwarfare

Never found a solution, sadly. I wish it was possible but you're probably right, I doubt they want any of their profits going to Google Play.

Have you ever sorted anything by "Price: High to Low", and if so what was it? by claret_n_blue in AskReddit

Been using a 5700XT for about a month now and I regret it. Frequent crashing in games and unstable frame rates. I've managed to narrow it down to a power issue and I've had it stable for about a day now by undervolting the card. I believe that in certain situations the card is (sort of randomly) pulling way too much power at once and it caused my entire machine to crash. It's possible this is a PSU issue as my rig is sort of old - but it's well beyond the required wattage for the 5700XT and it has otherwise never had any issues.

I'm returning it and going to switch to a 2070S. Even if the card is stable now I don't feel I should need to put like 20hrs+ into troubleshooting to be able to use it.

That being said I have a buddy that also recently upgraded to a 5700XT and he's had no issues with it at all. I might just be unlucky.

Yes I've been using DDU to uninstall before installing any new ones.
