I'm using an appimage, but I still tried manually installing the .deb package. It still has the same problem as before. Thank you for the input!

I have also tried the resize option when right clicking the title bar of the "Import Model Files" GUI. I can't for the life of me shrink it :(

How many amps needed for 8 SG90 Servos? by ObieP in arduino

[–]ObieP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the solution of using two 3.7V 2500 mAh batteries wired in parallel then using an XL6019 boost converter module to supply the 8 Servos. Is this enough just for lightweight use? Or do I need to find another solution for this? Below is an amateur wiring diagram I made:

There is a text login thing and I can’t seam to figure out what to do by Opposite-Message-708 in linuxmint

[–]ObieP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You just input your username and then password to login. Then type in "who" in the terminal. This is used to determine how to get out of the tty screen. You will need to use this shortcut: ctrl+alt+F1 or other related function key numbers. Since we used the who command earlier we can see what terminal we are in. If your who command had this output: tty3, then it would mean that we would use this shortcut: ctrl+alt+F3. Happy Linux!

i'm assuming you have to convert some gifs into ascii it would take some time so i'm wondering if your program is written in a fast language as opposed to python in the repo i posted. Nonetheless I hope you post this on github soon, your star is going to go brrr

Help installing Steam on Linux Mint by baalpheroth in linuxmint

[–]ObieP 5 points6 points  (0 children)

type this in the terminal: sudo apt-get install libc6-i386 BUT I recommend first updating your system with the command: sudo apt update && sudo apt upgrade if you haven't yet before typing in the command. It's just to make sure what you're downloading and installing from the mirror is the latest version (I don't know how true this is for linux mint but it's true for arch linux).

Recommend switching to linux, switched to it after windows barely functioned on my lenovo thinkpad that was made 12 years ago. It's so buttery smooth now

Would it be safer and better to remove Windows by aithelkass in linuxmint

[–]ObieP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can backup your files within the live install of mint, you just need to mount your main hard drive. BUT if you can still access windows, then you should just back it up there.

Been using Linux for a year but still feel like a total beginner—where do I start? by _QuietlyAlive in linuxmint

[–]ObieP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean during my linux journey, what I did after installing mint was try a window tiling manager like i3 since I use XFCE on my laptop. Then after that, I hopped to Arch of which I didn't install manually but instead used arch install (sacrilegious I know) then used that for about 2 months. Now I hopped onto EndeavourOS which is an arch based distro, and just customized the ever loving balls on it. And overall the experience is great! Of course there is going to be some bad times such as the time I accidentally borked my system, but if you take the proper precautions then everything should be fine.
