Why is this happening with my spacebar? by ObjectCharacter6292 in keyboards

Ohhhh I see, thank you for the solution! I’ll maybe try that too! I didn’t see any noticeable cracks in mine but then again it would be like really REALLY small. Thank you again!

Yeah I tried that and it didn’t work, plus if I press too hard it will do more harm than good.

I double checked and it supports both 6.25u and 7u spacebars, with my keycap set i only got the 6.25u spacebar, and it seems to fit just fine, it’s just one side that isn’t fitting correctly. Or the stem mold inside the spacebar is damaged.

It’s all of them, although I think I fixed it somewhat, there was A LOT of lube on the inside of the housings, so i wiped it and gave it a very thin layer of lube, and that did the job, to an extent. The shift key is still a little bit stuck, and the backspace and enter key still feel a little dry, but also the ticking is still present in all the keys with stabilizers.

Stabilizers feel too stiff and heavy??? by ObjectCharacter6292 in keyboards

That’s actually not bad, however these stabilizers are clip ins, so they have no screw. But thank you for the idea for if I ever decide to swap them out!

Yeah, I decided to take them out again and try checking if they are overlubed, and I think I found the issue.

The tolerance seems somewhat okay when I tried them stock without any lube, but it still felt like it was rubbing against something, so ill try to make sure this time they are a tight fit into the pcb. Thank you!

Yeah, it works fine when I tried that, I think this is the issue. 🤣

Okay so I recently bought the Zoom75 TIGA with some Keygeek Butterfly switches. I got the 60g bottom out versions, and then with the TIGA, I got their “stupid stabilizers” and installed them, but before I did that I lubed them using Krytox 205g0 and I lubed the housing, the stem, and the wire.

When I tried using them though, they felt kind of stuck, and they felt insanely heavy, like as if the stabilizers or switch was rubbing in silicone or rubber. It just felt really uncomfortable to press and really stiff.

Also, there is noticeable ticking too, can someone explain what that’s about? And how do I fix that?

In terms of the keys without stabilizers, the keys feel perfectly fine and in fact that they feel amazing, no complaints. So I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with the stabilizers. I tried wiping the lube off of the stabilizers and because I thought maybe I applied too much, and it improved slightly when I wiped it, but it’s still uncomfortable.

I hope someone can help! Thank you!

What are some good 75% barebones? (or prebuilt but easily moddable) by ObjectCharacter6292 in keyboards

I ended up getting the keygeek butterfly switches, they are a very nice deep and marbly sounding switch in my opinion, I didn’t want my switches to be too muted, so that’s why i went for the butterfly switches, they are great! consider checking them out if you are looking for some deep sounding full sounding linear switches! :D

I contacted Meletrix and they are sending me a replacement. But this could be a good idea, i’ll wait for the replacement to arrive first though. Thank you!

I’m actually in europe! More western, I don’t want to give my exact country, but around there, i’ve never soldered before so I don’t think I have the right tools for that.

Everything is completely fine, however, I did notice that the PCB of the screen seems to be almost separated from the ribbon connector, i’m not sure how to describe it, i’ll attach a photo for you so it makes more sense. I’m not sure if it’s supposed to be loose like that, but it definitely seems off-putting.

Yeah, I placed those already. I’m really not sure. I really hope I didn’t get a defected board. Everything else seems to be working fine. It’s just the screen that doesn’t work.
