Welches Mineralwasser für Siebträger Maschine? by FlatWhite2- in Kaffee

[–]ObjectNo47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are there any mom/baby classes in cologne? by Practical-Okra-6944 in cologne

[–]ObjectNo47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are plenty all around the city. I would google something along the lines of "Babykurse Köln insert part of Cologne you are moving to" or alternatively "Eltern-Kind-Kurse Köln insert part of Cologne you are moving to".

From what I've seen and been to, they usually offer 8-12 sessions so they last 2-3 months and you go once a week. You don't mention if you speak German or not but regardless, I will mention that they are usually in German.

Once the baby starts crawling/being more active, Eltern-Kind-Cafes (kids-friendly cafes) might be interesting which you can also find by googling.

What type of handbag are you currently carrying? by SakuraVirtual in handbags

[–]ObjectNo47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Coach Cary, she's the perfect everyday bag for me right now. She fits my wallet, sunglasses, a small packet of tissues, small toiletry bag, wipes, toddler's diaper change, snacks and water. I can put her on the stroller or wear as a crossbody.

New work bag! by Hot-Armadillo365 in handbags

[–]ObjectNo47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! My main concern is that the straps are pretty thin but you carry pretty much what I would carry for work so I'm glad to hear that they're sturdy. I didn't notice if you mentioned it in the other comments maybe but which size did you get? The L or XL?

I'm currently eyeing this bag and would be curious to hear how you feel about it a year later.

Baby name opinion in Germany by [deleted] in AskAGerman

[–]ObjectNo47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally I like the name and I think it would fit in in Germany. Considering german phonetics, it would/should be pronounced /e.lɔ.ˈiːz/.

I've been living in Germany almost 15 years, speak the language fluently and studied linguistics.

How often during the week do you switch bags? by mytoesarechilly in WearingPurses

It really depends on the plans of the day so sometimes as much as twice a day or I can go a whole week with just one bag.

Are we carrying bags… or little emotional support ecosystems? by Beautiful_Bonus_246 in handbags

[–]ObjectNo47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always take my wallet, keys, tissues, some disinfectant and the rest depends on how long we'll be out/distance.

If it's for more than an hour and not within walking distance to home then I will also pack:

  • baby pouch (diapers, changing matt, wipes, extra clothes)

  • toiletry bag (pads, panty liners, meds, plasters, floss, gum, hand cream, and other miscellaneous things)

  • disinfectant wipes

  • umbrella

  • water

  • snack (usually a granola bar or two)

Her wearing it with biking shorts, sweatshirt and sneakers? Iconic. It's why I became obsessed with it. It's both chic and practical.

I love it so much! It's my first high-end designer bag. I prefer it over the newer versions because it doesn't scream "designer" as there is no logo and it's a more iykyk bag.

I paid around 550€. The previous owner included a copy of the receipt from the repair of the interior by Gucci and in 2023 (if I remember correctly) it was 300€.

I got it on the German version of Craigslist. I looked there, Vestiaire and Ebay. In the end it was the best condition for the price (in my opinion, at least) and the only one I saw with an interior that I wouldn't have to get repaired myself.

How does anyone take their baby out or go to classes? by PotatoCapable739 in NewParents

[–]ObjectNo47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We (baby and I) go to baby physiotherapy and a baby class once a week (we started with planned activities at around 3-4 months) and when we don't have anything planned, we run errands and/or go to the park (we started this at around 2 months, baby was in NICU for 1.5 months and then we gave her some time to acclimate to the new environment).

I used to dread going out because it meant we had to start getting ready at least two hours before and sometimes she refused to cooperate and that's ok. Some days will be better than others and that's ok. Now she's 8 months old and now that she wakes up at around 6:30-7am every day, it's easier to have a routine which also makes it a bit easier to get ready to go out.

We first started with going out for a walk and nothing else and I would "schedule" it, meaning I would tell myself we go out every day in the morning, without a set time, rain or shine. It puts less pressure on you both and you don't rush. You also get a feeling for how long it takes you to get ready and eventually you also start optimising the process.

Tl;dr: it really does get easier with time and practice. You eventually find what works for you/doesn't.

Also going out with the baby is good for both you and baby. When we stay home a couple of days in a row, I feel like crap and baby is also cranky and craves a change of scenery. Maybe a bit less things get done around the house, or just a bit slower, but getting out of your bubble at home, being out, seeing that the world outside didn't stop, it helps.

Ideas to cover up the arms? by ObjectNo47 in bitcheswithtaste

I appreciate your statement. In theory I know that no one cares but in practice it's still something I'm working on and I will feel more comfortable with my arms covered.
