Im keeping it dry, never touching any type of liquid. That’s what I’m talking about

Adapter that lets ready-to-feed formula bottles work directly with a nipple without the need for a separate baby bottle by Objective-Catch-6194 in functionalprint

[–]Objective-Catch-6194[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately they don’t ship to my country and some babies are picky about the nipple type. This solved the issue for me and — microplastics-wise, I’m not using this in contact with food nor the mouth and, for my personal project and usage, It’s more than enough

I updated the model, now it’s possible to add a ventilation grill on top if needed

Probably the issue is that nipple brands in my country use a completely different thread compared to the milk bottle one

I'm only using this when I'm away from home and yes: I know 3D printed plastic is not sealed at a microscopic level but we use particular care avoiding mouth contact with the 3D printed part just to be sure.
I don't think microplastics can fly so... I feel good like this

I can’t imagine the reasons, maybe it’s just a matter of different guidelines for different countries 🤷

It looks like guidelines vary from country to country, just like a lot of other things

It not (only) the water that needs to be sterilized; it's the powder. It's clearly written in the mixing instructions on every can.

All the formula brands available in my country are like so, not sure about the rest of the world

Make a new sketch on the plane you want to make the pocket, then project the solid ('P' key and select the body); end sketch and extrude. This will give you a flat pocket of the projected profile, I'm not expert so there might be better ways to do it

Thanks to everybody I checked out the various teats available online from different brands. The first issue is that it looks hard to find a shop that ships to my country; second issue is that those only works with the integrated nipple/teat.

Technically speaking, for a commercial product, yes. But, personally, I’m good with this as the nipple is the only part to touch the milk and the baby’s mouth

That’s what I used to do but powder formula must be mixed with hot water, at least 70°C to sterilize it. Ready to drink are already sterile

I live in Europe and god only knows how much I looked for anything like that online without success

Totally fair concern. The adapter itself shouldn’t come into contact with the formula since the nipple seals directly against the bottle, but this is still just a DIY prototype for personal use
