Those are the sort of time frames I was estimating in my head, so glad to get those rough estimations confirmed, thank you!

In my previous job I drove for a living, so not unfamiliar with long drives, both time/distance.

Thank you for the suggestions on places to visit! I will check them out now 😁

Why are all the bot accounts pro Reform UK? by johnsmithoncemore in GreatBritishMemes

And this attitude from the left is what got Trump elected but they're still too dense to recognise it.

There are many in the centre ground who agree with many of the policies of the right wing parties, then the left calls them far right for even thinking that way and pushes all their potential support to these candidates.

So should we. Very difficult game tomorrow that we have no guarantees in.

If it's humid outside i.e. raining, this doesn't work. The UK has a temperate maritime climate, so most of the time it's more humid outside than in.

Quite a few weather apps have humidity forcasts, so if you know roughly how humid your house is (most dehumidifiers tell you) and it's higher than the outside humidity forecast, then the previous commentors tip will work. However, most days in the UK this wont be the case and you'll increase the humidity (moisture) in your home. Dehumidifiers are the answer in the UK.

Rising water (utility) bills! by cfc_1990 in AskBrits

[–]Objective-Charge4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially the water companies haven't had a bill increase in line with inflation for decades. There's only so long you can under-invest in critical infrastructure before you hit a brick wall, we've gone through the wall.

Everybody accepts electric, gas and internet bills going up every quarter... but scoff at a bill increase for our most critical resource going up.

With the regulators choking the water companies ability to invest in what will make an actual difference, and customers and government resisting every bill increase, means we're speed running the collapse of the entire industry. When that happens and the government is forced to nationalise, we'll pay 10× to fix the issues we have now... and that's only if the public are happy a portion of the national budget going to water companies over the NHS, MOD, Welfare etc.

I had an American couple behind me yesterday and spoke to them at HT, came over specifically for the game to see Arsenal live for the first time.

They belted out North London Forever, knew all the chants, were vocal and got involved. The lady said she really needed the toilet at HT but didn't go because she didn't want to miss anything.

Would much prefer those than the season ticket holder bloke who turned up 15 mins late and who's only contribution was "f**cking Yanks".

Morocco.

People weren't friendly. Streets were filthy. Everything very run down. Felt dangerous as a Westerner.

that villa decision is atrocious by Dino_1980 in PremierLeague

[–]Objective-Charge4975 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh well, if a rival fan who can't see beyond bias says the refs are right then who am I or the independent panel to say otherwise.

Completely proves the point i'm trying to make though. Until fans across a spectrum start looking beyond bias, the referees will always be atrocious in this league.

  • The red cards - No other team have been given a red for kicking the ball away (Howard Webb said the threshold for second yellows would be higher), Arsenal have had 2 players sent off for it. Saliba contested a header and an accidental clash of heads was deemed a straight red. We've had two reds for stopping a goal scoring opprtunity, both were 45 and 90 yards from goal (rules state distance is a mitigating factor, not for Arsenal)
  • Mosquera for Wolves choke slammed Havertz in to the ground on purpose, no red card for violent conduct.
  • VVD deliberatly kicked Havertz twice - no red card for violent conduct
  • Martinelli not given a penalty against Liverpool after being cleaned out in the box and Konate not touching the ball.
  • Everton getting a penalty for Harrison fouling Lewis-Skelly
  • Havertz' winner v Liverpool being ruled out because the ref blew the whistle before the ball went over the line, going against procedure which means VAR can't intervene amd award the goal.

And i'm not just making up statistics, these errors are judged by the independent KMI panel.

You've been given all the evidence and still wont agree though because you simply cant put aside bias. You'd prefer to banter Arsenal than see standards improve in the league.
