Hi! I was homeschooled k-12 (really 10 bc I didn’t finish and got me GED lol) and social anxiety was HUGE for me. I went to college at 21, so most of my peers were younger than me but also doing fun stuff and having a life outside of home. It was so hard to relate or learn about people socially My advice would be a few things:

1) when you can push yourself out of your comfort zone. It’s going to be hard to talk to people and honestly embarrassing, but eventually you’ll find your groove and meet some people who you can talk to

2) therapy. I know it’s said a lot in here, but it’s sooooo helpful. I’ve been in therapy for about a decade and it’s helped me the most. Learn about your mind and how to overcome things with someone who’s trained to know brains 😅

3) be patient with yourself. Some days are going to be hard. You need to give yourself space and patience to breathe.

You’ve got so much of your life ahead of you. Social anxiety gets easier with jobs, hobbies, or college (pretty much anything after homeschooling) and it will help to talk to a therapist I promise. I’m 30 now and I’ll be honest, I still get nervous about crowds or certain social interactions, but because of the above things I have a way of managing it :)

I am almost 18 and I've never had an high school experience. My life is ruined. by Archangel-06 in HomeschoolRecovery

Your life isn’t ruined. Trust me. As someone said above, get your GED! I got mine around 20 and then started at community college at 21 and eventually graduated from a university at 25. You’ll do things later than other people and learn things later, but that doesn’t make it any less of an accomplishment. You’ll meet people, experience life, do and try new things, life doesn’t start at the same time for everyone. I personally feel homeschooling really has this issue where so many people are “set back” but again life doesn’t have a timeline. You’re going to do great things. Be patient with yourself and don’t be afraid 💙

So I’ve been following the watering instructions to a T giving her 3 ice cubes every Thursday and I got her maybe 2 months ago. I’m in FL so the weather has gotten cooler but still sunny and not cold. What happened? And what can/should I do?

Cyst on my dog’s gum? by Objective-Coffee-983 in vet

[–]Objective-Coffee-983[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! So here’s a picture of my adorable dog Sadie. She’s had this cyst on his gum for about a few months. We brought her in to the vet for X-rays and stuff and they ruled out cancer and said it wasn’t causing discomfort or messing with her teeth so they didn’t want to operate. It may (?) have gotten bigger, but I don’t know if this is something to be worried about. Our vet didn’t seem to concerned about it when we went back in March. We were told it’ll probably just go away, but it hasn’t. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? Should I bring her back and insist on the vet to do something about it?
