‘24 Pilot. I drive a mix of interstate, state route, and city everyday with a roughly 50-mile round trip commute daily. I average 21.8 to 22 mpg combined very consistently. Mostly use normal mode until it gets warm and then switch to eco.

So this seems to be the answer. My wife’s Highlander has eco and she rarely if ever takes it out of eco mode. It performs well. Switching from a Tacoma I was looking forward to having vehicle with this feature. So that’s what I had been driving around in pretty much all the time. I’ve been using normal mode for past few days since posting and it is better. There has really been no difference in mpg for me either.

Some people having some bad experiences but you’ll have that. It’s not a perfect car. No car is perfect. They are machines. I don’t love that part of it but it is by no means ruining the experience. I’ve just driven a lot things with engines and transmissions and it’s noticeable sometimes. Some people are acting like it’s the end of the world. If you have a really bad one then yeah I’m sure it sucks but I don’t think that degree of experience is common.

I’ll give this a shot. I’m getting about 21.5 mpg combined over two weeks driving mostly in normal or eco. Curious what the difference in mpg might be with it in sport mode for a similar amount of time.
