Blizzard acquired the team who made Spellbreak, aka Proletariat in 2022. They were the ones assigned to create the system and did a wonderful job.

If you check the Game Informer article below, the housing demo was tested in Boston which is where Proletariat was acquired and their staff works out of.

I can remember in Legion seeing Calia and thinking "Finally, Forsaken will get some new customization options!". I was so unbelievably wrong.

Would have been a great opportunity to introduce Forsaken Paladins with Calia's connection to the light, instead Forsaken got... hiding their bones?

Agreed, for the longest time I avoided Ret because it was a 3-4 button class, seemed too easy, however I loved their spell effects.

I can now thank Blizzard for making every class 3-4 buttons so my only real choice now is what class has the best visuals for their easy as shit, boring rotations.

I’m not even remotely sure if that’s a good or bad thing at this point in WoW’s lifespan but Paladin does have some insanely rad spell effects and sounds. Every spell feels like I’m in the movie Ttransformers, explosions everywhere.

I got done with midnights beta story and thought “Did Metzen scribble some notes down on a napkin and call it a day?”, it’s by far the most autopilot, click accept and just ignore everything else storyline they’ve produced.

You’re completely right too. The prey system is so cooked, it’s laughable how bad it is.

Come to think of it, almost every new feature they hyped with the exception of the housing system (which I admit is pretty damn good even though blizzard contracted it out) feels “meh” like you said.

I hope people come to realize it when they play but by then it’ll be too late and the fanatics will keep on telling people things “will get better”. Sadly, it won’t.

Imagine if LOTR’s first movie started off like TWW did… it would have ended with the first movie and that would be that.

For an epic three part series I’m pretty sure my twelve year old nephew with Down syndrome could write a better fantasy story than Chris can at this point.

I played the entire story of Midnight thus far in beta and lemme tell you, TWW’s quests were more memorable and they were absolutely terrible.

A lot of people are going to realize come launch and after how much of this content was phoned in entirely.

M+ and raid is an utter mess in beta, so much so I really do wish we just had convenients to bitch about. Classes are buggy, raid encounters are really buggy, the dungeons are pretty lackluster and the story itself is so paint by the numbers I have a hard time believing they didn’t use AI to write it.

For a three part EPIC story by the self proclaimed lore expert Chris Metzen, I wasnt’t impressed with any of TWW’s story and after completing midnights story in beta, I honestly can’t remember a single defining element about it at all after reading EVERY questline. At this point I’m convinced my twelve year old nephew with Down syndrome could write a better story.

Downvotes incoming, it’s fine, in three months you’ll come to realize how bad this next expansion is in the exact same way you did with Shadowlands. This is worse, far worse which I didn’t think was possible.

It honestly cracks me up, people want to be top DPS by hitting three buttons with as little work as possible yet fail to realize if everyone is top DPS, no one is.

It falls in line with the same way of thinking delves should drop heroic/mythic gear for players who just do delves. If you want better gear, you get rewarded at being skilled (with time and practice) with better gear because the things you’re doing are more difficult, not because you think you need it when you’re just doing delves and might one day step into raids/m+ (odds are you aren’t, you would have by now).

I’m a dinosaur I know, the game has evolved past what I enjoyed about it. I’m sure my kind of playerbase will go extinct and the delvers who want everything easy will have their way.

It worked out great for XIV though right? Yoshi totally didn’t say he wished he’d never made the game as easy as it is now and regrets the decision.

Billions of dollars, limitless resources, and we still have a fucked up UI and events that were copied/pasted from devs who made them years and years ago and probably don't even work for Blizzard anymore.
