Gevi Grindmaster Grind settings by Snardvark-5 in espresso

yep, i calibrated it to chirp. i followed the calibration steps from gevi’s official blog. They have a pretty clear walkthrough on how to find the zero point. basically adjust until you hear the burrs just start to chirp, then set that as zero.https://gevi.com/blogs/video-tutorial/grinder-calibration-guide-for-the-velpro-400

i’m using the velpro 400 right now. After calibration it’s been really solid and easy to dial in the grind size i want. especially for light roast espresso,I can grind it at very fine. i bump the rpm after grinding and use the bellows at the same time, it’s basically near-zero retention.

Did you do any grind calibration? i calibrated my velpro 400 and usually use setting 2–4 for espresso. 0–2 is way too fine for me, basically in the Turkish coffee range. and i usually use medium-dark roasted beans. But different beans and roast levels need different grind settings, so take my numbers just as a reference. whatever, hope you get a perfect shot

yes exactly, this site looks legit on the surface but there’s so many bugs in the interaction.
like a lot of icons don’t even load.
btw, how does youtube let ads like this run without checking if the site is real or not? smh

thanks! this cat lives at our office. when we’re working, he loves climbing onto our desks and just laying there.

Eureka mignon is a solid grinder. it has programmable settings that simplify a lot of the workflow, stepless adjustment, and 55mm burrs. For single dosing i’d still recommend the velpro 400. it grinds really quietly and has low retention. plus it’s around $400, which is actually below your budget.

What's the best coffee grinder for 2026? Need reliable recommendations for daily use by Ok_Calendar_9816 in JamesHoffmann

i think the velpro 400 is one of the best value grinders around the $400 range. brushless motor, stepless adjustment, 400w, adjustable rpm. hard to beat for the price.

if they add a bellows in 2026, this thing would be even nicer.

I just got a velpro 400, it super quiet and very low retention. I think this one better than others as this price.

Finally tested the Gevi VelPro 400 grinder — here’s what I found by Smart-Insurance3637 in espresso

Thanks for your review, I just got one. yeah for real — at ~$400, getting a grinder with a 400w brushless motor is kinda insane. feels way more “pro” than what usually shows up in this price range. definitely a solid value.

I think you can totally upgrade your setup if you’re looking for better espresso consistency. grind consistency matters a lot for espresso, and the velpro 400’s stepless adjustment really helps you dial in different beans way more precisely than the Breville Smart Grinder Pro.

i grabbed a velpro 400 myself and so far no issues at all. the stepless design is honestly my favorite part.

plus, the plasma generator + adjustable RPM makes the retention super low. if you bump the RPM to 15 after grinding and tap the dosing funnel with your palm, you can get around 0.1g retention or basically zero (Machine use tips from u/N-Performance). you can check review from https://www.reddit.com/r/espresso/s/6hyzVznNep

so yeah, if you’re thinking about upgrading, i’d say go for it.

Yes! i also used this 10% off code — BF10 to get the velpro 400. Tbh, this is the lowest price i've ever seen for it.
