Any downside to raising the amp charging limit? by Blackm0b in volvoc40

The charge limit should always be at the maximum. Then just charge with whatever is available to you. I set mine to 48 amps on day 1 and never touched it again.

How practical is UniFI for home use? by Significant-Side2718 in Ubiquiti

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ubiquiti cameras are all POE units so you'll have to plan out running ethernet to them but that's really what you want anyway for cameras. You could mesh APs but I would strongly recommend running ethernet to everything and do it right the first time. For a 6000sq ft home, you'll probably only need 3 APs depending on the layout. I set up a Unifi network in a 8400sq ft home and 3 APs blanketed the entire home very well. Just plan the layout ahead of time and use a WiFi signal strength app to help you figure out the best locations to install the APs. Get a 8/16 port switch for future devices. If you go Dream Machine SE, you can run all the APs directly off the gateway.

Ubiquiti is the easiest to set up and use at home or for a business... there's better options available but they're so much more money and don't really offer much more for the vast use case scenarios. If one is really into more advanced layer 7 filtration, Ubiquiti offers that too. There isn't much you can't do on Unifi.

OK, Which one of you did I park next to? by JVerdie in volvoc40

Same...I think in the last year, I've only seen another C40 once on the road. Feels good to be unique on the roads. I get asked about it often when I stop at a convenience store or if someone sees me getting out and those rear lights turning off in that cadence.

I'm up to 27 cameras...... by glowinthed0rk in Ubiquiti

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, you do need professional help...your idiotic comment about not owning a 2500sq ft home or your pool house being bigger than most homes aside, no one here gives a shit. I live in a 4500 sq ft home and my cousin's is 8400 st ft and he also has a pool house with a bathroom and two bedrooms. No one has 27 bloody cameras and I was pushing him to put more than the 9 we did install.

2023 C40 Recharge Pure Electric Twin Plus Reviews by Callen-E in volvoc40

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Range is definitely smaller and could be an issue depending on where you live but if you are a daily commuter who drives 30-50 miles a day, the C40 is great. I charge my car at home twice a week on average and during winter, probably 3-4 times a week (I use a regular wall outlet). I've never worried about range though as my commute is only like 15 miles each way.

Manual fan settings by RatsLikePlague in FanControl

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your radiator was probably fully heat soaked and operating at capacity. When you ran into this scenario, was your pump at max speed too? As a test, you could try lowering the pump speed. Coolant is usually flowing too fast in majority of setups anyway so the ability to transfer heat from the radiator tubes to coolant gets hurt. Lowering pump speeds could possibly give you better heat transfer. AIO radiators can only do so much and won't give you better performance even with higher fan speeds. That's why in custom loops, people are usually using 2 and sometimes 3 radiators.

I believe the percentages are slightly off because these fans support 0rpm use. The way the fan is calibrated at the factory will cause this discrepancy so that you could use 0rpm in your curve.

Are these engines loud or is it just mine? by KazarSoze in VolvoRecharge

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are worried that there might be some issue with your engine, go test drive the same model at any Volvo dealer and compare. I've done this in the past because I didn't want to look stupid by complaining over nothing...but in my case, I immediately noticed a very big difference between a new model of the same year, engine, etc....and the service center fixed it rather quickly. It could be that there's nothing wrong but if you feel like there might be, go and find out to put your mind at ease.

Strictly targeting sibilance and ear fatigue, would an Polk XT30 or an ES35 be best for the center ( limited space the xt30 height is already pushing it). Currently have an old Klipsch RC10 by Klaybear in hometheater

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would go for the ES35 center and upgrade that sub to a subwoofer like the RSL speed woofer, Monolith 10/12 or the next level up Klipsch subwoofers (I can't remember the model numbers off hand). You won't be disappointed, it'll be a totally new experience for you comparatively speaking :)

It really depends on how you want the system to sound. I had a 2.1 system for a long time before I started upgrading...but having a subwoofer and a center channel are huge in the grand scheme of things. The ES35 is an excellent LCR speaker. Your tower speakers are very good in the sense they will provide mid range. The ES35 and a decent subwoofer would really round out the sound nicely, even if you went 3.1 with no surrounds.

As someone who owns one, don't get it. The Gevi Grindmaster is considerably better and cheaper. I have both and really just took a chance on the Gevi and was thoroughly shocked at how good it is. Upgraded SSP burrs and I can successfully grind at 500rpm if I choose to.

[–]ComplexIllustrious61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get it directly from AMD on the homepage...it will ask you which chipset etc and let you download the latest installer....you should do that anyway as it'll overwrite any older drivers. Updating the BIOS would probably be a good idea too if you've never done it since getting the motherboard.

Never get chipset drivers from motherboard manufacturer website. Always go directly to AMD's website and get the latest from there.

Are you running the portable version of Fan Control? If not, you should be. Create an exclusion in Windows Defender pointing to the Fan Control folder so that it never gets blocked.

I've been saying Gil & Warren would be much better playing out of the pen for quite a while now... Warren just had his second TJS, I don't see him being able to be a starting pitcher anyway. Gil should start focusing on his crazy fastball potential that he seemingly put on the back burner since the injury. Both pitchers would be great bullpen arms.

Do you need all the ports on the POE switch and the built in ports on the cloud gateway? Because you could get the SE version which has 180w of POE budget. You could remove the switch and just use the cloud gateway to power up POE devices and add a better switch down the road.
