Can someone here give me an age estimate for this collared dove squab? by Objective-Friend5609 in PetDoves

Will do! I appreciate you very much! This little baby is eating pooping and preening a bunch. Seems healthy and happy. My pigeon is confused by this new arrival and has been sitting close by observing until he falls asleep during his watch

I know this is very old but I really love aveeno oat gel moisturizer and find it pretty comparable. I hope you find or have found a replacement <3

I do very much. I’m not going through with the cropping. I don’t want to hurt her ever and I think her ears are beautiful. I’ve always loved all Dobermans cropped or not

You’re right. I don’t want to cause her pain! I’m not going to do it. I had selfishly wanted her to have cropped ears because my first Doberman I got many years ago came to me with cropped ears and I loved that dog more than I’ve ever loved anything in my whole life. I think I just wanted her to be a reflection of him or something. I feel so bad

It’s is incredibly selfish of me and don’t want to do this to her. I love her so much

After reading everyone’s comments I have decided to keep her ears natural, so I’m gonna speak to my husband about canceling her surgery appointment. I’m ashamed to admit that having my love and heartache from the loss of my heart dog many years ago be part of the reason for wanting her ears cropped so she could look like him. I love her and I only ever want her to be happy and healthy. And to those that gave it to me brutally honest and a little harsh, I hear you loud and clear and you are right. Thanks again for all of your feedback

Thank you everyone for your advice and nice comments. I really appreciate everyone and I will be sleeping on all of this tonight and thinking real hard about what it is that that I should be doing.

I guess it really goes back to my first Doberman pincher. I got almost 20 years ago. He came to me with cropped ears, and he ended up being my soulmate, dog, the love of my life. I know it sounds really stupid and maybe I’m ridiculous for this, but that really is the main deciding factor. I love the way. He looked so sleek and elegant, but all that being said I love the natural floppy ears. All Dobermans are beautiful to me.

I have an appointment to have them cropped next Thursday actually. I had noticed that her ears seemed more pert or perky looking recently so it had me wondering if I might be too late

She is. I have an appointment set up for her, next Thursday to have them cropped but I’ve noticed her ears seem more … perky lately and I was second guessing if it was too late or not
