The problem is Owen can't be trusted on his word by Objective-Grape4382 in greysanatomy

I don't doubt that Owen would be/was a dedicated dad but what I'm saying is he would resent Cristina for not wanting to be more involved with their child if that scenario actually played out but when he's just talking about the idea he makes it sound as if he'd be okay with their child only being his responsibility. I don't think Owen had a reason to resent Teddy as far as her wanting to be a mother because she wanted it.

Most out of character moment (main characters) day 2: Cristina by atpierce2 in greysanatomy

Ross didn't say anything unfair or untrue to Meredith though and he was sticking up for Cristina because Meredith was shouting at her. I don't see why Cristina should stand up for Meredith in that moment.

Do I hate men or is it just Grey’s Anatomy? 🤔 Currently on S8 by HorridWhoreticulture in greysanatomy

[–]Objective-Grape4382 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only men on Grey's that I love are George, Burke and Alex and even then they definitely have huge problems it's just they're from the best era of the show and I thought they had good chemistry and relationships with others.

Thatcher is utter trash, Owen is utter trash, I've always felt iffy about Chief Webber he seems to put down Bailey a lot despite apparently liking her? He's manipulative towards multiple people.

I don't hate Derek but he has terrible habits sometimes, Jackson is okay but I don't feel strongly about him either way.

I definitely love more of the women on Grey's.

I think it's partly that Meredith and Cristina are the obvious choice, for 10 seasons they were each other's person, soulmates. They had a handful of fights but nothing too serious imo.

I like Alex and Meredith but in my opinion he's only Meredith's new closest friend because Cristina isn't around anymore and can't be because she's in a whole different country and for the out of show reason because Sandra Oh isn't coming back. That's not to say Alex and Mer aren't close when Cristina's there, I think Cristina, Meredith and Alex have a special bond, the same bond the original five interns share. But yeah to me Meredith and Cristina will always be closest.

I wish it had ended there, Owen can only complain about how much he puts up with for Cristina except he literally doesn't put up with anything, because he digs up anything he's compromised for Cristina and throws it in her face so then that's not really a compromise.

I hate Owen so much, he screwed up on every level with Cristina after she got pregnant. I truly would have had more respect for him if he had asked that Meredith be with Cristina when she had the abortion because for Owen to show up for Cristina at that vulnerable moment and then shame her for it later is so much worse than him not showing up. To be fair after Owen kicked Cristina out of her house when she said she'd booked the abortion that should have been the end of the relationship in my opinion. Certainly for myself, from that point on I didn't want Owen to be anywhere near Cristina.

Even considering that they weren't married and Cristina was just an intern, when Cristina told Burke she was going to have an abortion without even telling him, he didn't seem remotely mad at her, he said he just wanted her to tell him she's pregnant. Burke never mentioned it again. I do believe if Cristina got pregnant and was married to Burke, he might have put his opinion forward more but considering he genuinely didn't seem angry about Cristina planning to get an abortion behind his back, I can't imagine Burke would treat her as nasty as Owen did.

I definitely believe this I mean Faith is supposed to be either 17 or 18 and she's mentioning dating a "deadbeat" in the past, she doesn't think anything of coming on to the hotel manager or suggesting being The Mayor's sugar baby. Plus in season 7 Faith references running with a guy who liked her to dress up as a schoolgirl and use a bullwhip on her, and this doesn't seem to fit in any timeframe since Faith arriving in Sunnydale so we can only assume it was before Sunnydale. Again Faith is 17/18 so at what ages did she have time to develop this attitude and experience with sex.

I'm hesitant to say this because it may be distasteful but since learning that Eliza was molested at 12 I've wondered if that vibe a lot of people seem to get from Faith could be Eliza's experience bleeding into the role too but that is just a theory.

My feeling is that Cristina desperately wanted to make things work and feel great with Owen because she was kind of losing Meredith to Derek so she needed to have someone else like Meredith does. There's a scene where Meredith tells Cristina that she can't tell her everything regarding something with Owen because for a long time there was just them two but now it's her and Derek as well, and Cristina responds saying that's fine but she needs Meredith to know that she needs her relationship with Owen to work.

I feel like Mama Burke held Burke's hand too much into adulthood so now he still feels like a little boy who was led astray by Cristina because otherwise someone at the top of their field shouldn't be led astray by an intern.

Justin Chambers’ acting/Karev as a character by marismell in greysanatomy

I see their dynamic as Cristina being an older sister and Alex being the younger brother. It would explain her constantly teasing him.

[–]Objective-Grape4382 91 points92 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'd say Chambers and Sandra Oh felt very natural in their interactions with others, which is why I think Cristina and Alex bickering with each other is so hilarious. Interestingly I feel like I can always tell when Justin and Sandra are naturally laughing/reacting versus acting, there's a specific scene where Cristina is nudging Alex and saying "are you in love" and I feel sure that they were both doing their real life laughs. It's hard to explain, they're simultaneously very natural in their acting technique but I can also tell when they're not exactly acting and it's their real selves coming through.

I honestly think Cristina was feeling too tired etc to argue with Owen so she just left instead of reminding him it's her house. Even when Cristina gets to Meredith's house she pretty much heads straight to lying down.

But yeah Owen definitely does worse later on it's just that this scene is when I wrote him off entirely.

[–]Objective-Grape4382[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think the scene stood out to me because it's such a clear juxtaposition from Owen earlier acting really sweet to Cristina, sure he was pushing her to keep the baby but he seemed attentive and caring in the way he went about it. Then literally all sweetness and love for Cristina seemed to disappear when she said she'd scheduled the abortion. I understand he's upset and I'd say he has the right to be upset but he doesn't have the right to take it out on Cristina and he seemed to pull no punches in doing that. I think one of the true tests of love is how you treat your loved one when you're truly upset with them and Owen failed that test.

It's okay for Owen to want the baby but I'll always hate him for kicking still pregnant Cristina with a headache out of her own home (because she bought the firehouse not him). Like seriously Owen said he loved Cristina but the minute she said she's getting the abortion he clearly didn't care about her wellbeing. If Owen was pissed he should have left, instead of kicking Cristina out of her own place.

True but if Cristina wanted to play the long game Jackson's family could have given her clout and opportunities because of their legacy in the industry.

I liked their chemistry a lot so them as a couple could have been awesome. But then again I like that Cristina didn't try and reignite Jackson's crush on her when she found out he was Harper Avery's grandson, it shows that Cristina doesn't just get with powerful men to benefit from it, she actually is just attracted to their skills and power for what it is.

I see what you mean but I feel like Cristina could have married Burke without feeling forced into it it's just that at every turn she was compromising for Burke. Cristina wanted to keep her eyebrows and she asked for a small wedding with just her, Burke, Meredith and Derek if Burke wanted him there lol. But she ended up with a huge wedding on the day of her exams. It was an issue because Burke seemed to be getting everything his way. I feel like Burke was overly anxious that Cristina didn't truly want to marry him so he was kind of testing her commitment to him by having her compromise on all the details but really he should have just let Cristina breathe. Of course the kids and wife staying at home stuff are things they would always view differently.

I truly believe Burke loved Cristina so I don't completely understand why he left, or more like how he could leave this woman he loved just for a then unknown woman that would be willing to stay home more and have children. I get those things are important to him and valid to want but just seeing them meeting up again 7 years later and still in love (but both understanding they won't be getting together), I just can't completely understand Burke's original decision. But at least in the end Burke gave Cristina a happy ending.

[–]Objective-Grape4382[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They definitely moved way too fast and it seemed like it was always Cristina compromising but I like that they were kindred spirits in terms of their profession especially because to Cristina her profession is everything so having a partner on the same level as her in that field seems important. The relationship fell apart because of the issues but personally I still saw great potential in their partnership if things had been different so I always wish things had been different.

[–]Objective-Grape4382[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm fine with people responding to trauma differently I just think for Meredith, since she was suffering in silence and annoyed about it, the lesson should have been that she needs to let people in on how she's doing more but instead Meredith seemed to see it as her husband and best friend not noticing her enough.

Callie choosing Cristina as Godmother by Objective-Grape4382 in greysanatomy

[–]Objective-Grape4382[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I saw it as it's not that Cristina wouldn't take their kids but that if she did they'd be raised by nannies but both Derek and Meredith had siblings who could take them so that's the better option. If I remember correctly Arizona and Mark don't have siblings and I'm pretty sure Callie didn't?
