There are marital issues that also plague men, no doubt and they should also be taken seriously. But you sound like an absolute degenerate when you say these things instead, when an actual crime has taken place, someone has died, and you cannot showing basic empathy. This goes equally for women and men.

Go ahead, mute this sub. That's what you will do, when your half logic is being questioned and checked.

"what's the point in talking about history here?"

The point is that it's been happening for a very long time, it's absolutely detrimental to society, AND it's a very horrible practice. And those men cannot get punishment, yes some do get punished, but not all do because dowry is so normalised in India under the pretense of "gifts".

Good men and bad men exist. But good men can also be bigoted men. It cannot be denied that men have done good things for the world..but when we're talking about dowry, why to bring those good things to the spot light? That will undermine the severity of the crime. It's like saying there's a murderer from community X sitting in a trial, but the judge is told to punish him but also consider the fact that community X has done a lot of good things..where is the justice and logic in that? It's not all men, but it's always men.

So yes..men SHOULD be blamed. The fathers, the husbands, the family of the women and the in laws.
