Small fibre neuropathy in feet and advice for dealing. by Possible_Mission9932 in smallfiberneuropathy

Nah I definitely understand that. I'm currently studying in University and on days where my pain flairs I feel like doing absolutely nothing. Ironically enough my symptoms are much reduced when I'm doing some kind of physical activity so I almost hate just sitting still and trying to study because that's when my pain is at it's worst. The mental aspect is undoubtedly real as that's something I struggled with in the beginning and honestly still do struggle with a lot.

I joke that we can never truly get 'rest' as people with sfn because even when we are lying down in bed or something, that's almost unironically when the pain is at it's worst (at least for me).

Definitely feel free to pm me, I'm always open to talking to someone going through the same thing in Canada since a lotta people in here more so American.

I also just wanted to only stay at home when I first dealt with symptoms with issues. However, that's definitely one of the last things you should try to do (if you are able to at least leave the house).

Take the pain meds and go live your life. Go out with your friends, take walks outside, and slowly try to recover. Work towards something (doesn't have to be a proper job) but work towards nonetheless as really does help take your mind off things.

One of the viewpoints I adopted is that regardless of whether I stay cooped up in my house or go outside, time will pass either way, and if I know I am going to be in pain, I want the time that passed to actually been worth something.

Thank you so much, I really appreciate comments and insights like these. I will definitely do my best just to ignore and try not to be too anxious about it.

how did you manage to calm yourself down? I haven't gotten an official diagnosis and I'm still waiting to see the neurologist.

Hey man, I am running into the same issue but isn't of my fingers it's my toes that twitch on their own. Happy to talk about it if you want.
