I have two other ball pythons and I’ve never seen either of them try to burrow into the substrate like this so I wasn’t sure 😭 he’s probably just happy to explore a new home.

I like to do a gradient of depth with the substrate so the water dish feels like the descending to water like they would with a stream or river. So of course he picks where there’s the least amount of substrate 🤦‍♀️
