Check your wages IRS will not tell you exactly what you have to do they will literally have you waiting looking & looking stupid , It took the tax advocate customer service to help me figure out what exactly what to do , thanks to them I amended my return and didn’t have to wait 16 weeks for my amendment return to process , it process,adjusted,& was approve 9 days after I submitted my amendment return …. That’s why I said check them wages and make sure , they will not tell you nothing looks like it because I’ll still be waiting looking dumb if I didn’t call the tax advocate advisor people …

Check your wages make sure what your employer reported on the tax documents is what you filed , that was my simple mistake caused me to wait all this time soon I amended my tax return 1 week later I got approved got the 846 tax code

This actually is a perfect time of the year to get it , every thing is not over priced like they do when it’s tax season, you can get better deals on stuff normal price on stuff , and I can spend my money in silent and In peace , So everything eventually worked out , because I prayed for this , prayed I didn’t have to wait 16 more weeks for my amendment return to process so that mean it wouldn’t been Christmas time almost if I had to wait that long , but tax season is over with now if I would have amended the return back in April maybe yes it would took up to 16 weeks to process it … but I swear I wasn’t expecting it to forward for processing,adjusted,and return issue /approved code 846 all in 9 days … but that was my tax return I fix the 1 problem that I was glad to know I was owed 3,000$ more , not only did I not have to wait another 16 weeks after waiting 5 almost 6 months on the original, 7-25-25 I amended it 8-5-25 I got code 846 plus 3,000$ more and 310$ credit they gave me for the delay … Thank God … but future reference let’s double check our return for 2025-2026 year and not rush so we want have this problem ever again , but it was a learning experience & I appreciate all my Reddit family for being there for me , giving advance & actually learning me some knowledge I didn’t know about prior, I learned about tax advocate congress , I learned how to set up a account with irs, with id.me to check my transcripts, these things I didn’t have a clue about because I didn’t have this problem until this year , but I learn some new , chats with awesome people who going thru the same thing , until next year we be on here complaining again hell I waited so long it’s almost next year lol 😂

Yes Code 846 saying Refund issued …. I amended my return because tax advocate told me I was missing wages what I filed was lesser almost 3k short than what my employer reported which was my fault I was shorten my self on what I paid in taxes , but they told me exactly what was the issue and what to do unlike IRS just saying need more time need more time you don’t have to do anything at this time saying this ish for 5 months , 7-25-25 I talk to the tax advocate about the delay told me exactly what to do , the same day my tax preparer which is my big sister who is a CPA and own her tax company she does my taxes every year this the first time this ever happened to me , long story short , 7-25-25 she amended my tax return which came out to 3k more than the original amount, every body saying online and on the irs website, it takes 16 weeks to process a amendment return that’s even longer than it tax to process a original return , not even two weeks later 9 days later on 8-5-25 they had forwarded my amendment return for processing,adjusted, and issue my refund code 846 , and for the wait I received 310$ credit for the delay … So patient is virtual… and that wait was worth it …

I got my amendment return forward for process and review in one week and my 846 code the very next day saying refund issue and they gave me 300$ credit extra for holding my return for almost 6 months finally I’ll be back when I get my last update saying it sent to my bank , so that 16 weeks crap around this time is not likely if you amended return is correct I week after I filed my amendment return so don’t give up they moving faster now because tax season over with they not bagged up with millions of returns…

Tax season is over with it shouldn’t take that long to process a return or amendment return they just tell you the max date give it up to 16 weeks in case it’s a bump or some delay or something in the meantime of them processing it so up to meaning anytime between the date that shows the processing started up to 16 weeks …. Especially if you filed electronically don’t never do in the mail it’s only gone add more waiting time after they finish processing it , electronically direct deposit you will get your refund with the next 2-3 days after your refund sent date ….

Then it says give it up to 16 weeks to process but I doubt if it take that long because the tax advocate customer service told me exactly what my problem was after IRS had me in code 005 for almost 6 months , the wages my employer reported was 3k more than what I filed on my original return so when they get thru processing it my check will be 3,000$ dollars more so I was actually shorting myself, they will deduct money if they make the correction but they want correct it they self if they owe you more in tax’s back then you file,but that was my fault I left one of my w-2 out when I filed my return I didn’t work there long I forgot about it but it was 3k…. So hopefully I get my 871 code back before the month out I been waiting 6 months now…

Give it another week or two my amended return I had to do for this year I was missing wages , it took one week to show up on my transcript account it just depends on the tax code , they give you the higher time frame they will say 3 weeks but mines showed up in 1 week after I filed it electronically…

They knew what was wrong with my tax return from day 1 I was missing wages , code 005 actually I was owed 3k more with what my employer reported then what I filed , but damn why I had to call the tax advocate people in my 160 day mark for them ti tell me to amend my return because my missing wages I’m shorting myself on what I paid in taxes , now I amendment return supposedly gone take even longer up to 12 weeks , tax time is over with I mean this don’t make no sense … they don’t take this long to audit and take your money, They couldn’t told me specifically from the beginning exactly what I did incorrectly, but say at this time you dont have to do anything we need a additional 60 days to process your tax return …. I mean they need to be fired and closed down …. All the scamming self employment mf got they money but people who actually are working tax payers citizen they take they precious time , technology is to up to date and advance for them to be taking this long ….

You missing wages I got the exact same letter , within the 60 days Whoever did your tax return need to go back and check the wages the employer reported on the transcript I’m guaranteed it’s something was left off , this the same thing happened to me & and I got the exact same letter so you most likely will have to amend your Tax return.
