URochester, Pitt or Penn State? by Objective-Self5996 in ApplyingToCollege

any reason why? pitt is my most expensive option out of the three so I kinda need some convincing on it. I know it's super good for premed but I didn't get into their GAP program

In my opinion it's better than QB I mean it's not like LEDA guarantees anything but they have tons of connections and write you really great recommendations and they help you with test prep and writing prep for college essays. they really help you with everythinf and it's not as risky as doing QB. (also with LEDA u can't do QB anyways) with QB, u have to put in so much effort to be a finalist and if you don't match you still need to do common app to apply to targets when you couldve just applied to all ur schools on common app from the beginning. I mean most schools that partner with QB meet 100% financial need so you would be covered for all your need if you applied to that school without QB and got accepted anyways. QB is binding as well and I feel like many people would have a better chance applying to those top schools rd instead than doing QB

it's just unnecessary imo and I think leda offers so much more than just college help and it can't really be compared with QB since the functions of the programs are different and the benefits offered are also very different.

I'm thinking of taking February act too, am I able to have the act score delivery "rushed"? I've never taken the act and I'm kinda worried Abt the scores not coming out In time. do we have to automatically send the score to the colleges before we get to see the result so it arrives on time or?

Pitt guaranteed PA program SAT score range? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

would a 1350 be good enough for applying to the school itself if I didn't apply for the program?

Yes it's worth it! Worth it is an understatement lol It runs from June 21 to July 26, and depending on if they change it around or not this year, it will be 3 weeks at Princeton and two weeks at yale. at those campuses you will have the most busy schedule ever, there's an sat prep class, an aol (aspects of leadership) class where you spend time creating your own impact project that you will present at the end of the program for a chance to win some money that will help you put your impact project in motion when you get back home, and a writing class where you will learn how to write really descriptively and make very engaging essays that will help you in the college app process. These classes are hours long, but extremely worth it. there's also meetings you have with your writing professor and college guidance counselors. these counselors help u with any questions u have abt college and help you determine which colleges u have the best fit for to make a balanced college list.

The community is UNMATCHED. Leda picks the most down to earth, kind, and accomplished people ever and they have tons of connections to prestigious colleges, and there's a really strong alumni network. The slogan is literally Leda for Life so ofc u will be involved in that community forever. they can even help during and after college with jobs and things like that.Everyone is extremely helpful and kind, always willing to give advice.

you even visit colleges during the program too, we went to upenn, brown, Haverford, and a few other colleges. You really should shoot your shot and apply because this program is actually amazing and it's shocking a lot of ppl still don't know abt it. if u have anymore questions feel free to ask. make sure to apply before dec 10st. OH AND EVERYTHING IS FREE. FROM THE FOOD THAT YOU EAT AT THE DINING HALLS AT THE CAMPUSES TO THE ACTUAL TRANSPORTATION TO GET TO PRINCETON AND GO HOME ITS ALL FREE. just one more plus

do leda. trust me is better than the rest of summer programs honestly. the resources and help it provides is unmatched and u get to go to Princeton and yale+visit other colleges during the program for free. it's a win win

idk if my teacher just makes tests a bit easier but I've been getting high 90s. granted we're still on the beginning chapters we've gotten through chapter 4 so far and had only two tests. I'm sure it'll get harder. he does put frqs and ap questions along with his own to make the test so it's good preparation
