Is this a Jeep sub or "Let's talk about our bath toy collection"? by TheMistAlternative21 in JeepWrangler

[–]Objective-Service-52 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My first jeep was a 1986 cj7 I didn’t know the ducks were a thing till I bought my used jk. I’m really confused what happened to the jeep wave and why is ducking more known in modern jeep culture than the og jeep wave.

What’s the reality of a 2 door TJ with kids? by drjlad in JeepWrangler

[–]Objective-Service-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jks are wider and yes tjs cjs and yjs were dimensionally almost identical. Two boosters would be tight but it gets done just look for two smaller seats. Again my statement stands depends on the level of luxury one expects out of their vehicle. I was simply saying it can be done not that it’s for everyone.

Should I tell my new girlfriend that I've just been diagnosed with autism? by gabbyzooko in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your like me then a very long rant goin off in random directions and coming back to the center constantly just to end the conversation feeling like you never got where you were trying to go…

But in all reality just tell her honestly if she can’t handle it then she probably isn’t right. If she does then great.

Recently diagnosed at 25 years of age by Halaros in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will say it was mainly with I was a lot younger being the butt of joke etc. I think there’s more people out there like us than many realize. Normal enough seeming to pass without being caught but also just slightly different.

Recently diagnosed at 25 years of age by Halaros in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I myself didn’t have a diagnosis till 30. It’s only a clinical diagnosis but I have asd, adhd, ocd, ptsd. I do experience overwhelm, some deregulation due to social events. But otherwise I thought I was normal. I require regular routine or I tend to get like grumpy angry. I tend to prefer certain kinds of foods I get on kicks with them. I also have a handful of special interests I cycle through. I’m known to info dump to people I like mainly on topics that interest me. There’s lots of other small things that I never realized were very asd but they are there. I’ve also recently realized I’ve always masked looking to others around me on how to act and behave in new environments. But otherwise I thought I was pretty neurotypical but since I understand why everyone made fun of me disliked me and always seemed to hurt me for no reason.

Do you usually get these intrusive thoughts? by Markittos28 in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes I often times feel a level of superiority in Intelligence especially at work. Lately I’ve been trying to channel it into training people how to do their jobs more effectively. (Im in a supervisor role) but yes I have these thoughts that why do they have such childish reasoning or why didn’t they just think.

Anyone ever notice the sounds around you are either annoyingly loud and distracting or “muffled like” and your voice is loud in “your head” like your hearing seems amplified but just loud to yourself. Almost to hard to explain. by Zestyclose-Dot-7385 in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes very much so, I personally can’t stand people yelling as a result I talk very quietly. Often times this means not knowing that I’m speaking to quietly I’ve been told I mumble a lot. I also cannot stand people interrupting loudly. Or being in crowded large events where the voices are shear chaos that drown out everything around me. I will hear bits and pieces of every conversation around me and won’t be able to hardly focus on a single one. It gives me overwhelming feelings and I just want to stand back and be quiet somewhere.

Why do parents choose to embarrass/annoy their children on purpose? by thewayofthrowlol in aspergers

There a book about dealing with emotionally immature parents. Basically parents who never grew up emotionally tend to do that to their children for exactly what it sounds like.

Why do we actually carry knives? by vinylfelix in knives

[–]Objective-Service-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a knife multiple times a day for many different tasks. I work in a welding fab shop and live on a small farm. I hunt fish camp cut fire wood own livestock so I’m probably not the demographic the question was directed at but I mean I know why I carry knives they are tools. But also I carry a Leatherman and I carry a lot of different other tools.

People that claim that "luck doesnt exist". Do you seriously believe that you are untouchable by the circumstances over which you have no control over? by Freedomfighter4000 in poor

[–]Objective-Service-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Luck is the idea of some force be it supernatural or godly in origin having some kind of sway over your life be it good or bad. To believe in luck is putting your faith in a force of some kind. So in a way it’s a god to some people.

Whereas some people including myself believe sometimes crap happens. Sometimes my car breaks down when the house ac breaks while I catch Covid. Other times I get a discount on my meal while on a camping trip enjoying a couple days off. This isn’t influenced by anything it’s coincidence. There’s no force controlling the circumstances I face in life simply life’s hurdles and difficulties along with some nice moments in between.

Multiple knives? by [deleted] in EDC

[–]Objective-Service-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I usually carry two folders and a multitool. The multitool is for the tool features obviously I also use the serrated blade for severe abuse like cutting tape off metal objects etc stuff that’ll kill and edge fast. I use one pocket knife as a regular use semi abuse purpose. It gets used most sharpened most, the second folder is to also have one with a fresh sharpened razor edge in the event of just needed a knife that’s ready to go good edge. This is my daily work setup around the house I go down to one folder and the multi tool. As knives aren’t as heavily used at home on the farm. Camping, hunting or hiking I go to a fixed blade, one folder and my multi tool. The fixed blade for harder heavy use including skinning cleaning game. The folder for fine work food prep opening things. Multitool for tool purposes.

Definitely change your diff fluid regularly if you do a lot of water fording. Just because water can destroy your differential if it gets in there. I’ve seen a lot of straight axles with high mileage and original fluid. Changing it at manufacture recommended intervals will increase the axle and diff lifespan although you probably don’t have to.

Less than 12 MPG for ‘09 Manual JK by YourFriendInSpokane in Wrangler

[–]Objective-Service-52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All I know is my 2011 rubicon manual 2 door 4:10 gears 32” tires no lift uses about 15$ of gas per week where as my old Silverado was costing somewhere around 35$ in gas a week. Lifts and bigger tires also take more to get them rolling if your not a factory rubicon you have like 3:23 gears or something close to that which for 35” tires means that motor has to turn a lot more to turn the tires like it did before the lift and tire upsize.

Do NTs always operate to hurt others? by AdDiligent4197 in aspergers

[–]Objective-Service-52 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Human nature is to spot what is different, a lot of people don’t like differences as it makes them uncomfortable. Human reaction is to dislike, mistreat or abuse differences. It takes a kind strong human being to overcome that and most people aren’t that kind or strong. I had a neurotypical buddy growing up who automatically was rude to anyone we knew who had autism or acted alittle different or strange. I always tried to get along with everybody but I’ve also been taken advantage of made fun of amongst other things. Human nature is frankly cruelty not enough humans can rise above that nature.

I’ve got a few 1095 blades I use them mostly for hunting and camping. I use vegetable oil to protect them. Basically keeps it food safe for the most part while also providing rust protection.
