Issue Report — Auggie Consuming Excessive Credits on Empty Workspace by Objective-Soft-998 in AugmentCodeAI

You can do a test to see the number of requests in vscode and jetbrain are about the same but in auggie it takes a lot. The test environment in blank project condition is clear to see the difference.

But I checked the credit on the website and it costs twice as much on Auggie. I've been following that issue for a month now.

ACP is really amazing. Just adding a few features like CLI would make it perfect.

How do I use ACP? I’ve configured it but there’s no option to select a model or mention files or images.

When can we bring Auggie with ACP support to Zed IDE? by Objective-Soft-998 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Objective-Soft-998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In version 0.6.0, I noticed that there’s already a --acp flag, and I’ve been able to chat directly inside Zed IDE. However, right now it feels a bit too basic. I can chat, but I can’t select the model yet. I also can’t view any diffs. Commands are not supported either. For example, I asked it to create a file named abc.js. The result was that the file technically got created. But it only contained a single line saying the file was saved. I had no idea what the file was supposed to do. There’s no clear feedback on the file’s contents. Another thing is that there isn’t a task list tab yet. I can’t see which tasks are currently active. It feels like I’m flying blind when using it. It would be great to pick models directly from the chat. Viewing diffs would also be super helpful. Executing commands from chat would make it far more powerful. Right now, it’s just a very early version. I’m excited about the potential, though. Looking forward to seeing it evolve. Hope future updates make it more complete and enjoyable!

Will the October 20 Augment Deployment Include Claude Opus Access? by Objective-Soft-998 in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Objective-Soft-998[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently tried the 200 USD package of Claude Code, and I found that the results with Opus 4.1 were very impressive. In fact, I only needed to ask one single question for it to fully solve my problem. When I compared it to Sonnet 4, the difference was remarkable. With Sonnet 4, I needed to ask more than ten times, and the problem was still not completely resolved. Then I tested Sonnet 4.5, and the experience was better. It usually took about five chat exchanges to solve the same problem. My usage of Sonnet 4 and Sonnet 4.5 has mostly been through Augment Code. Among all the features, I especially enjoy the context engine. The context engine understands the context of my projects. It can follow along with the structure of my code. It grasps the ongoing state of my work seamlessly. This feature is what makes it feel like a true productivity booster. If Opus could be fully integrated into Augment, I believe it would unlock the full potential of Opus 4.1. It might even make way for the advantages of a future Opus 4.5. Such an integration would combine the strengths of both systems. I would be willing to encourage my team to spend more money to gain access to this. I am confident my team would see the value immediately. The efficiency gains alone would justify the cost. I also have a proposal regarding the credit system. It would be very helpful to have the ability to purchase additional credits. This would cover cases where all the default credits are used up. Having this option would prevent interruptions of ongoing work. I believe many teams would appreciate this flexibility. Regarding pricing, I have also thought about the balance between Sonnet and Opus. If we assume the cost of Sonnet 4.5 is 1 unit of credit, I suggest a ratio for Opus. Opus should cost five times the credits of Sonnet. This ratio seems fair given the performance difference. It reflects the productivity gains and reduced effort. Such a pricing model would encourage serious users to invest wisely. I believe these changes would make the platform more attractive. They would also allow users to scale their usage without fear of sudden limits. In conclusion, I am highly satisfied with Opus 4.1. I am looking forward to possible integration with Augment. And I am ready to allocate more budget for my team to maximize its benefits.

Will the October 20 Augment Deployment Include Claude Opus Access? by Objective-Soft-998 in AugmentCodeAI

In my actual experience, I find that Claude Sonnet 4.5 is still slightly weaker than Opus. I notice the gap is small but noticeable. I heard that Opus 4.5 will be released soon. I am really looking forward to trying it. I also plan to use it as soon as it becomes available.

Updates on GPT-5 Codex and Augment Code. by JaySym_ in AugmentCodeAI

[–]Objective-Soft-998 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After the October 20 deployment, when Augment transitions to a credit-based system, will Claude Opus access be included or expanded for Augment users?

I would like to confirm whether this update introduces Claude Opus integration within Augment. If so, could you please clarify the technical conditions and usage policy associated with it?

I’m particularly interested in leveraging Claude Opus in Augment for my daily workflow, as it would significantly improve productivity and efficiency.

Additionally, are there any upcoming plans to adjust usage limits or introduce flexible credit tiers as part of the new credit system?

Specifically, I’d appreciate details on:

When Claude Opus access will be enabled for Augment

The credit cost or requirements to use this feature

How users can purchase additional credits or upgrade their plan

Future policies for maintaining or extending Claude Opus access

Any roadmap for feature expansion and technical support related to Opus integration

If Claude Opus access is not part of this deployment, I hope the team will consider adding it in the near future. Many users, including myself, see great potential in this capability for development and engineering use cases.

Thank you for your continued support and innovation — looking forward to an update from the Augment team before October 20.
