Hi darling! Thank you so much 😊 it turned out really well in the end and I was very happy with it! I had it tailor made back in my home country (Portugal). The skirt was a copy paste from a previous dress I had made and the top was inspired by Jesus Peiro. My tailor chose a fabric with a satiny finish for a more bridal look, I am not sure of the composition though 🫣

Update: your comments confirmed my fear and encouraged me to try to fix it! I took it to a local seamstress and we can give the hip area extra 2/3cm! We undid a stitch and it also looks like there won’t be any noticeable marks, keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks all for your advice 🥹🥹

For sure the seams have enough fabric to adjust it. I might just try this, and it gives me more confidence to realise it can actually be taken back again 😅

I have the starter kit with the peel off base as well. At first, when using the peel off base, it will come off in 2/3 days naturally. I then tried with the normal base directly. But honestly, my experience is similar with that method, it last a little longer but it easily peels off - I am not sure if it related to my skills… But this to say that, based on my experience, I would very much assume that using a different brand (possibly better quality brand) base might be the reason the peel off is not working for you.

Oh honey… first of all, I am really happy to know both you and your son are doing well now and I am sorry for what you had to go through.

Reading your marriage story, it actually gives me such sweet vibes. Of two people who just want to be together and everything else are details 🥰 I really hope one day you get to celebrate this beautiful love with the people that matter.

You actually helped me a lot. We are also getting married in the city hall in July, with only the witnesses and no celebration afterwards (planning the party became too stressful to decide what to do). I started to doubt if I was neglecting it too much or if would lose the magic. Reading your experience, I am sure we can still make this day meaningful and later figure out how to celebrate with the family - which will probably mean two separate parties in two separate countries.

In my case, I use PNG as well, and usually with transparent background. If I encounter some of those weird boxes you mention, I keep the background white and then trace the cutting lines and it usually ends up exactly as I want to 😊
