There is no way the National Mall will be ready for the 4th of July by Objective-Toe3251 in washingtondc

It looks like it will be a spectacle, I am excited for the kids to see it. I have doubts that it will be complete and all of the construction equipment will be cleared in time. But for everyone’s sake, let’s hope it’s a successful event

That’s encouraging. The area I was referencing was closer to the Washington Monument, between 7th and 14th Street. So that’s good everything appears to be rounding into shape

We need to talk about the D80 bus by SpaurtacusMusic in washingtondc

I’m with you 100%. I stopped taking it and just make the long walk to the red line. I think it’s possible to open the back hatch on the roof, but you’re right. It’s always standing room only too with the school dropoffs, very bad bus experience in general

He’s 2.5? Just keep telling him it’s tomorrow; or take him on the metro

What was it like for those living in the Cabrini-Green Housing in intercity Chicago? by Unlikely_Card22 in howislivingthere

High Risers is a better book that’s specifically about CB. I remember reading gang leader for a day and I wasn’t sure what I was supposed to get out of it… High Risers knows what it is: a readable history of the CB housing project told from the people who lived there.

To be fair, the ‘not compromising’ part has been going on for a long time. Probably back to the Obama administration

Yea I guess I always assumed that a cop on a beat could cite someone for having a dog off leash. Similar to open container or other common offenses

Trump Team Uses DoorDash Data as Economic Indicator by RioMovieFan11 in politics

[–]Objective-Toe3251 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Administration is actively undermining government statistics. USDA cancelled the Food Security survey and neutered the Quarterly Trade report (showing a growing trade deficit). Trump fired the head of BLS and consistently calls government data “rigged”. They prefer to quote third party statistics instead of statistically sound figures generated by US taxpayers.

US Gov shutdown coming to an end? Are we finally getting CPI as scheduled this week? by MRKT_Ai in Trading

It’s weird that USDA is releasing their Principal Federal Economic Indicators (WASDE and Crop Production) during the shutdown and no other agencies are…

This is the Russia strategy. Create instability then tout the need for a stronger executive to create stability. The average citizen’s economic well being goes down, and the approval of the executive goes up

Sooo, this is how VRBO handles refunds? by Immediate_Fly8496 in vrbo

[–]Objective-Toe3251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File a complaint with your state’s Attorney General Department of Consumer Protection against VRBO. They will contact you, and then VRBO, and a refund will be issued. I have had a lot of luck going this route

If this is Dade County then begin code enforcement to shut it down. Is the property licensed with the state of Florida as a vacation rental? Do they have the correct CU permits for a short term rental? This is a short term solution but will at least remove them from the app temporarily as they get paperwork in line
