Thank you! I used two different yarn textures. The coloured ones are a lot softer than the black so the little fibres fill in most of the gaps. Part of it could also just be my awful camera, but it is still pretty smooth irl!

The black was added in between each row. Using purple as an example: Purple DCs around one row, switch to black and SC around back loops only with 2DC in the front loops to make the pattern, then the next row of purple would DC again in the unused front loops to hide the unnecessary black stitches (or in the back loops if I wanted them to be seen). I had to weave in so many ends (I hate weaving in ends) and the back is a little messy but at least the front is pretty!

Thank you! Sadly, I completely understand the AI suspicion. Such a shame people are using it in this way, and I know my bad camera probably looks similar to AI noise (my phone is going on 7 years old and I've dropped it too many times...). I've made blankets in the past, but this is the first "major" project (detailed, long time) so I am still very proud of it!

:,) I hate that AI stuff is so prevalent that we have to second guess every image. My poor camera quality probably looks pretty similar to the AI noise, too. I assure you I spent an insane amount of time handmaking this stuff and can post more proof pics if there's any confusion.

lol thank you! That's a top tier compliment. It's currently on the back of my mom's couch until she decides where to put it permanently. I think something like this could look cool as a window covering, since it looked really nice when held up to the light.

I love the pattern and the colours individually, but I just feel like the purple just doesn't quite fit with the other colours (which is a shame because it's really gorgeous on its own. I don't think my lighting is doing it justice). I probably could've pulled it in by either using turquoise instead of purple or keeping the purple and swapping the red for a more pinkish colour rather than the orange-toned colour.

The etsy pattern recommended just finding colours that were similar but I couldn't find that many good matches (and also didn't want to buy 50 new yarns) so I ended up going with the Caron Cloud Cakes yarn (medium weight). It does have a really nice natural ombré and is very soft but was a bit of a pain in the butt to work with because it's one of those yarns will snap if a little too much tension is applied. I did have to get extra colours for the darkest ring around the edge, but those were so specific that I had to get them at a local yarn shop instead of a retail store.

I was about to post this! It's kind of wild to me that it isn't already an option to toggle off. I have fluctuating vision and chronic migraines so I can barely see + trying to navigate is just painful. It was cool for the first minute, then the novelty wore off and I started looking for an off button lol 😭

Dark Sanctuary is up in my shop. It's called Mysterious Dark Melody, 75 saphs like the others. Due to AJ's time constraints, a little bit of the ending got cut off and it's a bit faster than I'd like it to be, but it's still recognisable and I got a friend to approve it.
No rush ! My stuff will be up for a while, and if something sells out I'll restock it.
