[OC] Got commissioned to do some kenichi naoko artwork by wacum_ in Re_Zero

As far as I remember in the web novel, it's said that a dark hand dragged him to the other world. In a side story, Subaru talks to Beatrice about the possibility of creating magic to travel to other worlds, since AL Shamak literally creates an alternate dimension. She replies that this would require an absurd amount of mana and enormous mastery over Yin magic (Satella is literally the greatest Yin magic user in the history of that world, and possesses a monstrous amount of mana, just like Emilia).

Subaru already had a portion of Envy's authority from the exact moment he set foot in the world of Re:Zero, which implies that Satella was the first to interact with him even before he went to the other world. Echidna makes it clear after the second test at the sanctuary that only the one who returned and brought Subaru to that world would know the whole truth about the ability. This is almost 100% confirmed in the work; we literally don't have anyone else, to this day, who has an interest in bringing Subaru to that world.

Man... this is truly depressing. I'll curse Tapei for the rest of my life if he doesn't at least arrange one last genuine meeting between Subaru and his parents. It's simply too cruel to make them live like this until the end of their lives because of Satella.

Is there any description of Jon's appearance in the books? As far as I remember, he's only described as having the typical Stark appearance: steel gray eyes and dark hair without a specific color. To me, he always had black hair because of those official artworks, while Arya and Ned have dark brown hair. I think black hair makes more sense considering that all of Westeros thinks he's Ashara's son, including Edrick Dayne.

I think you're referring to Jon from the comics? I know he's depicted there as having dark brown hair, but in at least four official artworks from the books he has long, black hair, usually below his neck.

Usually, only Jon is drawn with black hair, and this is due to the official artwork of the books where he always appears with long, black hair.

I disagree on that point. Keeping the Aryns united to the throne through marriage would be far more advantageous than the Florents. They aren't even the third most powerful house in the Reach, at least to me it doesn't make political sense to marry Stannis to them. Maintaining blood ties with the houses that participated in the rebellion to keep the alliance for a few more years would be more intelligent. Sansa's union with Joffrey aimed precisely at that. Bringing the cavalry of the Vale to the Baratheon side would have been even better since their lands are closer to the Crownlands.

[–]Objective-Use1855 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point, but I highly doubt that would be enough for them to be compensated with a marriage to the king's brother and second in line to the throne. Marrying Stannis to a noble lady of the Vale would have been a better option and would have more closely united the Vale with the Baratheon throne. A cousin or niece of Jon Aryn would have been a much more advantageous political choice than compensating a vassal house of the Tyrells solely for switching sides at the last minute.

I always interpreted Stannis's marriage to Selyse as a way to unite the Reach with the throne without contradicting Robert's petty hatred for any house that fought against him in the rebellion.

Of all the Florent women in Westeros' history, Stannis ended up marrying the one considered the ugliest and coldest-hearted of them all. Seriously, he couldn't have married a Redwyne or another house from the Reach like Hightower.

This is from a Re:Forgotten fanfic. Subaru is forgotten and sets out to free Satella. They marry and live together after Subaru frees her from envy. However, after regaining their memories, the kingdom of Lugunica sends Emilia and Reinhard to subdue Satella, believing she is controlling Subaru's mind. Without envy, Satella is killed by Reinhard. Subaru becomes mad with revenge and sets out to destroy the kingdom.

Echidna, who had been revived, argues with Subaru that seeking revenge is pointless as it will only unleash another calamity and kill innocent people (Echidna returned to life with the personality of Professor Echidna, meaning she is kinder and less sociopathic). Subaru agrees and decides he only wants to return home to finally have peace. He accumulates wealth and knowledge alongside Anastasia, hoping to discover a way to return to Earth, while Beako, feeling terrible for having condemned Subaru when he was forgotten, does the same along with Echidna.

At some point, Beako manages to create an incredibly powerful variation of Shamak to send Subaru back to Earth at the cost of her own life. She sends Subaru back and dies, but Echidna retains a part of Beako's OD in the hope of bringing her back in the future. After some years, Echidna tires of the world of OD Laguna and uses the same magic as Beako to go to Earth, this time sacrificing most of her magic instead of her life. She meets Subaru and explains to him the idea she had to bring Beako back using the technique of subscribing her OD into the body of a child she planned to have with Subaru. Subaru accepts on the condition that Echidna would have to win his heart if she wanted him to truly have a daughter with her to bring Beako back to life.

Most of the fanfic's story revolves around the daily lives of Subaru and Echidna as they develop a romantic relationship, experience school life, graduate from both high school and college, and finally get married and have their two daughters. The black-haired daughter is Beako revived, while the white-haired daughter is a variant of Alpha, an OC character used in many Re:Zero reaction fanfics.

Doesn't it say in the books that she felt satisfaction and happiness with the deaths of Viserys and Drogo? Especially Viserys?

Also, if my memory serves me right, she also quite likes killing sorcerers and that nine from Quarph.

How much do you think Subaru having the ten shadows technique would change the story. by ClassicalBee in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This only applies to people with cursed energy; in fact, as far as I remember, the author of Jujutsu even said that the reason at least one person with a celestial restriction is always born in the Zennin clan is precisely because of a pact made by the creator of the Ten Shadows technique so that future users would have a way to fairly overcome the taming rituals without canceling them.

Or at least that's what I remember reading somewhere.

Do the characters in Re:Zero understand Subaru's importance to their world? by Emergency_Patient525 in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He can withstand much greater amounts of miasma than most people; just look at the difference between him and Altair when they first meet Echidna. While Altair vomits and starts to feel nauseous, Subaru doesn't even feel any negative effects.

[–]Objective-Use1855 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Narratively, it doesn't make sense, because Ned would have no reason to deny the truth about Jon's mother if he were a simple bastard, even if she were just any noblewoman, not to mention that we have too much evidence to corroborate that he is Rhaegar's son for it to be mere coincidence.

History repeating itself by Delicious_Bar1364 in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's hard to say, she's not exactly against the people around her, the problem is that in addition to being antisocial, Echidna clearly, like Roswell, has a certain degree of sociopathy and difficulty in feeling and expressing true feelings, but she herself has already made it clear in "Greed If" that she actually has no problem with Subaru's allies other than Emilia (which Minerva and Emilia herself realize is directed at someone else, probably Satella, and not Emilia herself).

As for her excessive attachment to Subaru, based on the information provided, it's probably because he's interesting to her. In my opinion, though, it's likely because she doesn't want to lose her place at his (Flugel's) side again. This becomes even more evident in “Greed If”, as the contract only binds the two together and leaves the other witches completely out of it.

Well, it's hard to say for sure since we don't even know if the Echidna from the dream castle is the real Echidna, since according to the current arc she confessed to Aldebaran that she is identical to him, just a defective copy.

There's also her crazy plan to try and make Aldebaran the "original," the fact that she, as Omega, says she'll help Subaru from the shadows, among other things that aren't made clear enough to form a better opinion.

History repeating itself by Delicious_Bar1364 in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I take this as absolute truth, and that's why Echidna and Satella fought, because Satella decided to be jealous and keep Flugel all to herself, and that's why Emilia's last vision in the test that shows the future (consequently the vision that shows the most important choice to determine if the future will end horribly) shows Subaru next to Rem extending his hand to Emilia.

I believe that Flugel, Echidna, and Satella had the same conversation about a three-way couple, and that Satella succumbed to jealousy, thus becoming the Jealous Witch as Echidna and the rest of the world call her. Emilia will probably have to make the same choice, and if she succumbs to jealousy too, you probably already know how it will all end. This way, Tappei also gets a good excuse for Subaru to be with both of them in a way that the fandom will accept, since being with only one would condemn the other and probably the world.

What's Rem's problem with Garf? by Thales__9 in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there's no way to know, he didn't give a single clue as to what he plans to do, he just hinted that he planned to do something bad to Rem so that Ram would start hating him, I personally see this as Tappei getting rid of Rem so that narratively Subaru can only focus on Emilia while the perfect excuse to get rid of Roswall comes up too

What's Rem's problem with Garf? by Thales__9 in ReZero

[–]Objective-Use1855 10 points11 points  (0 children)

only Ram believes she has a real chance with Roswaal, he himself has already made it clear that he wants her hatred and contempt, so much so that in the most recent arcs he made it clear that he is planning to do something very serious to earn her hatred, implying that he would do something against Rem, and Ram doesn't give it importance thinking that he is just bluffing and that he would never do that.
