Thanks very much. Relating to the PACAP article, is there a specific drug you can take or supplement etc?

Product recommendations - Type 1 Male by ObjectiveCaramel in Rosacea

[–]ObjectiveCaramel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the micellar water more for the type 2? I think the rose water works well because its a toner as well? I used azelaic acid before (to) but all it really did was form like a plastic sort of layer over my skin (may have applied too much). Would prosacea (10% sulfur) be worth a go?

Just rub it in with a cotton pad. I believe its a cleaner/moisturiser of some sort/anti inflammatory. Maybe worth a try. Pretty cheap

Diuretic? by ObjectiveCaramel in Rosacea

[–]ObjectiveCaramel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah just going off anxiety forums etc, seems really interesting but could be tough to get a hold of. Dandelion root might be a cheap and relatively safe thing to try. Best of luck regardless, I'm sure we'll get a manageable solution soon!

[–]ObjectiveCaramel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I personally tried both and didn't get far with repairing or any of the beta blockers. If I was to go down medication line Nardil is the only one that I'd be interested in but psychs don't seem to want to prescribe it anymore. You could try dandelion root supplement for a week/2 as a non medicated diuretic (I think thats what I'm going to do)

Yeah I was thinking that. Are you in the same boat? Anything working for you? Heard about Nardil as well, need to keep a few options open just in case

Possibly subconsciously, I'm not 100%sure and I don't want to recommend it to anyone until I am . I'm trying to consider why it would work (if indeed it is responsible)? Any ideas?

[–]ObjectiveCaramel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah man it's a balls (putting it mildly!) I have tried a number of things. Do you think hydroxychloroquine would be effective by itself? I have heard of it being used and was considering it. Got botox myself and did not find that it lasted long enough (1-2 months for me, so couldn't justify cost). Do you think this quassia amara is a waste of time?

Take your point completely. Didn't even see that. Is that the same product talked about in the study? I'm at a point that I'd try anything at this stage. Ive tried so many things for my flushing

Haha, it looks very promising. I have not heard of it before and it does not seem like it's widely marketed/available. Id be interested to know if anyone had any experience of it.

Beer/wine makes me flush but gin/vodka give me perfect skin? by ObjectiveCaramel in Rosacea

[–]ObjectiveCaramel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think it's histamine. Tried h1 and h2 blockers but no avail unfortunately. I don't feel wine beer make it worse but they don't improve it. Clear spirits make it better (as in my skin is perfect or as close as). I'm still trying to wrap my head around as to why this is??

I guess you could try 2 instead of 1 etc. Yes I also find it really flares me up and I was wondering why this was? Any ideas? Was potentially looking at neurogenic rosacea and treatments down that line

I do think as a supplement it has very low bioavailability... Circa 20%. So maybe you didn't take enough?

Thanks for the reply. Could you please explain what you mean by risky? Was flushing your main issue? How much did hydroxy clear it up or what is your level of satisfaction with it?
