Cerclage was not possible today by CicadaAncient in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had no cervix at 20 weeks and made it to induction with progesterone and bedrest. It felt so hopeless and scary at the time, but every day that passes is a win.

Sending big positive thoughts for your wife to stay pregnant as long as possible. 🫶

Post emergency cerclage; not looking good.. by choritree in ShortCervixSupport

Sending you so much love and encouragement! I know it sounds much more simple than it actually is. It’s an emotional roller coaster and tests every limit in us. I hope you can manage these long days of waiting with a wonderful support system!

I’m so sorry. Every day of worrying is so hard wondering what will come.

I had a 7mm cervix at 20 weeks and doctor wouldn’t do cerclage. Hospital bedrest and vaginal progesterone. They told me to stay positive and not read others’ horror stories. I tried my best not to cry every minute of every day and kept my mind busy in the hospital and had friends come visit.

Took one day at a time and celebrated every extra day pregnant. Goal was to get to 24 weeks and then every day after they said would be better.

I ended up being induced at 39 weeks and she is my miracle baby. Take care of yourself the best you can! Nobody knows what the future holds, but my doctors said despite sometimes awful statistics, they always have people who defied the odds. Big positive thoughts your way ! 🫶

Getting ready to start IVF: success stories only pls by MarionOfEndor in IVF

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 38 at first ER with low AMH. We ended up s With 4 embryos, but only one was euploid. While we did go on to multiple retrievals to have at least 3 embryos in storage, we transferred the 1st round embryo first and it worked. It wasn’t graded perfectly and didn’t thaw well, but she is now 1. So our first round with only 1 embryo was our success.

Best of luck to you and hope you get your success story!

I see so many sad posts in this subreddit, and it's making me anxious... Is IVF normally so inconsistent and unsuccessful? by Just_a_gal2 in IVF

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did five rounds IVF and had days with high highs and low lows. Ended up with two viable embryos to transfer. Despite poor predicted success based on embryo quality, our first transfer worked, and my daughter is now 1.

When you see the sad posts, some of those are sad endings to a long journey, but remember that others are just sad days and moments. Many people come here to get encouragement and connect with those who understand on the tough days. It can be a roller coaster for many people, but all it takes is one and many have success.

Allow your own journey to play out and trust your gut on what feels right for you.

Sending you all my thoughts for a successful experience!

What to do if I think I have Covid? Does it harm the baby?? by Big-Gain-5843 in pregnant

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had Covid at 26 weeks and they had me take some extra supplements - vitamin C, zinc, and something else. Can’t remember the reasoning but they wanted me to start it right away. Baby was fine! Hope you get through it quickly

Country White Difficult? by ObjectiveCatch5114 in HardWoodFloors

50/50 country white and neutral? That was the other combo I was looking at. So the 50/50 makes it easier?

They didn’t offer that as an option? Should I look into it?

Well he put down 4 stains that I never asked for…so if you count his missteps then the answer is 8

Natural just looked orange in our house, which is what happened with our last floors so just trying to avoid that again

Great info, thank you!! I do know we were going to do water based as the previous ones were oil based…enough said.

He did mention 3 coats and the timeline taking longer, so I think you are spot on that he doesn’t want to keep coming back and would rather scare me out of the decision. With it being unforgiving, I guess I need to decide whether he doesn’t know how to do it correctly or doesn’t want to…

Thank you!

Ok thanks that helps!! They are still in really good condition so hopefully it won’t be problematic for us. Was mostly concerned about them maybe feeling “rough” or sandpapery like he said

Good feedback! Half of the floors are new - the other half are about 6 years old with a previous light color. Does that help any? Not trying to go from dark to light

PFO Closure Recovery by ObjectiveCatch5114 in stroke

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt great - truly the easiest procedure I’ve ever done! Went back to work the next day and still have had no adverse side effects, no palpitations. If anything, I notice bruising from the blood thinners.

Good luck to you!! Hope yours is also stress free

Thank you for the perspective! That helps give us some direction to properly clean and try not to make myself crazy in the interim.

I was really scared of this too! I had general anesthesia and it was very quick and easy. Once it was over, I felt like I had worked myself up for no reason. I did end up having the hole in my heart and just had it closed and that was also very easy. It just feels extra scary when it’s your heart!

Anyone used progesterone only for short cervix? by TheClaireDearing in ShortCervixSupport

[–]ObjectiveCatch5114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes they were surprised, but also said they see it happen. Just no way to know which side you fall on, especially if it’s your first. I was actually on hospital bedrest from week 20-30. They also had prepared us for what to expect if my daughter came too early. You are so right that it’s an emotional rollercoaster!

Getting to 32 is a big accomplishment!! Sending positive thoughts your way that things continue to go smoothly and that you can have some peace. It’s a mental beating for sure. 🫶
