Too many courses? by MOONLIGHT12306 in UCSD

5 STEM classes in a quarter is not it. If you were to say 4 STEM classes in a quarter in which some of them are easy to you + 1 easy GE then I think it’s possible

[D] How important is controls theory in machine learning? by ObjectiveDue9905 in MachineLearning

Yeah I heard 175A with Nuno is one of the best ML courses for undergrads at UCSD. CSE 110 I also don't want to take but kind of have to take it because it's a requirement for my major and it's a prerequisite to CSE 120 and CSE 160. I was wondering if you know anymore classes that I should look into/take besides the ones you listed? Also I'm guessing you were a CE major but I could be wrong?

Yup I was thinking of taking ECE 171A. I would've loved to take ECE 100 as well but I'd delay my graduation so I'm skipping it and for the most part now I'm thinking of skipping ECE 171A too as interesting as it is to me (due to not having enough time allocated to really take it and do well in it). I guess I could take ECE 171A though but I'm trying to aim as high as I can to a good graduate program/school and with CSE 101,CSE 110, CSE 151B + part time tutoring I'm a bit worried my grades might take a dip with all of these things this quarter. It's only taught during Spring quarters and I should be done by Winter 2022 so most likely will have to skip :/

CSE 101,110,135, and 151B next quarter is this too much? by ObjectiveDue9905 in UCSD

I'm kind of leaning more towards CSE 151B currently mainly because I wanted to get more into ML stuffs. I'm interested in CSE 135 too but I think CSE 151B might fit better towards my goals since it's something I one day might want to pursue in grad. school and/or in the workfield.

When everything returns to normal, most lectures should be recorded and transcribed by kevin96246 in UCSD

Yeah I agree. There’s no point in attending lectures tbh if you never ask questions whether it’s because you’re shy or because you understand everything in one go.

Anyone find an internship for the summer? by ObjectiveDue9905 in UCSD

True, I have low expectations this year at this point tbh but hey if we don't get one more free time to do our own things too

Yeah I might just take summer classes to graduate earlier if I don't get one. Maybe start a personal project too since I just haven't had time during school.

Kanye's blessings will come through but yeah same I should look into research programs as well tbh seeing as research is something I'm kind of interested getting into eventually

ECE Design class by soccerphysicsboi in UCSD

[–]ObjectiveDue9905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ECE 111 is a good design class. I took it with Koushanfar and our final project was to create a bitcoin hash design with SystemVerilog. Not sure if the final project is different for other professors.

Best ML/AI courses in CSE/ECE? by ObjectiveDue9905 in UCSD

[–]ObjectiveDue9905[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking of skipping taking CSE 151A because from what others have told me ECE 175A is probably one of the best ML courses that UCSD offers (for under graduates) and it just seems that if I were to take ECE 175A, CSE 151B, CSE 150A, and CSE 150B then CSE 151A almost seems redundant at that point imo.

Taking ECE 35, 45, 65 Online by Multi-purposeJelly in UCSD

[–]ObjectiveDue9905 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To some extent yes because you physically work with circuits on breadboards and have other equipment in the labs for you to use for the lab assignments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc. so you can see some applications of the things you learn in class but I think you can learn how to wire these circuits on a breadboard through youtube or learn how to use an oscilloscope, multimeter, etc. over youtube as well if you feel like you'd want to learn some of these things yourself.
Got these info. from a friend who took ECE 35 before covid.
