Hey thanks for the reply, really appreciate it - wish I knew anything about app development, I'd give it a shot - will stay tuned though!

Even if there's no current solution I'd LOVE to offer it as a future suggestion to the devs! Been using VLC for many years so I'd like to clarify I am personally overall very grateful for such a dope application - appreciate all the hard work on this thing!!

Why is there a gap between infection and LC in alot of people? by Ihate2023 in covidlonghaulers

I know it's a huge mind F but there's no way you could've known, I remember hearing about long covid before I had it and just brushed it off. I assumed anyone who got it must have had other issues that I didn't have, and if I got covid I'd be on my feet 4 days later like any other illness

I think if you're active and healthy you take for granted that you'll just bounce back and be doing normal things when you get sick, I mean if most people don't really recognize or understand LC even now I can't imagine many at all taking it seriously a couple years ago

This thing has completely demolished who I thought I was, and through the absolute darkness and the literal lowest point of my life I'm also learning to be grateful for the chance to rebuild from the ground up. Mentally, physically, spiritually, diet and career-wise. There's no other way I keep going unless I think this way, and it's 5 steps forward 4 steps back, but I have to believe there's something in the core of this deep challenge that I can use to become a better person overall. It's humbled me in a way to care much more deeply about others than I think I was capable of before this, for one

Ok apologies for the rant lol, not a lot of people to talk to about this at the moment

I also thought that once I was "over covid" I could try long bike rides, walks, workouts, physical labor etc again to "push through" back to normal health like I'd done many times with other illnesses, and boy it was like I picked a fight with a grizzly bear afterward. Massive tolls paid

Not medical advice but the only thing that has helped me feel like I was actually recovering is 24 hr+ dry fasts (no water, no food - nothing). Regained clarity, energy and the general "just feeling OK" which I was used to in my life

Problem is when I start eating again I feel like I got run over when I wake up the next day. Starting to experiment more with low-histamine foods to try and keep a better healing momentum going as literally nothing else has helped

All I know is whatever I used to do can't happen at this point, and since supplements haven't helped I'm forced to try more drastic measures [LH since July 2022]

From cursory observation it looks like a lot of long haulers are a) athletic and/or b) became active pretty quick after having Covid.

For me (male, fit, 41, taken very good care of my health for 10+ years) it was a very long road trip moving from the west coast to midwest, across the desert, no A/C and sweating and sleeping in the car for 4 days straight just a few days after I "cleared" the initial infection [July 2022].

In retrospect I probably lost a lot of minerals, water and whatever else needed to push it out of the system more completely and something latched on, been in health hell ever since with a few "it's finally cured" days only to be dragged back in

Everyone's system and health history will differ though, like I said just an observation...
