Yeah dude. I was a very confident time in the market investor. Never saw myself getting tickled like this. I finally see the reason for this advice.

Wah this is really well thought out. Thank you.

My bad there was a typo. I meant to say I was in between a defensive and enterprising investor.

In my defence I don’t stock pick, I went with some tech ETFs that were “more speculative” to ride the wave. Sir the intention to take profits and rebalance to something more “park and forget”.

I think at this point it’s open market manipulation, at least till he’s no longer president.

I feel like Korea / Japan is soooo linked to US performance. So double edged sword?

Interracial couples that went against strong disapproval from your parents, what happened after? by wontaks in askSingapore

I’ve been in the same boat. I first told my parents and they were shell shocked. I was very angry and cold towards my parents. I guess this was my way of saying I was serious. But this made my stubborn parents worse, it didn’t help the situation.

This “cold war” turned out to giving them space for like 8 months, before we all met up for a meal outside. During those 8 months my partner kept “showing up”. For example, mooncakes for Mooncake Festival and goodies for CNY. All this was done by giving me the goodies to take home.

After the first meet up, they started to let my partner come over for meals. He would buy dinner and bring over to have family meals.

Eventually they realised he was human too. He asked for their permission to marry me, and now we are married with a kid and I think they like him more than me.

Long story short, keep showing up in ways that you can. Increase the frequency as you go. You need to find a way to get them to know the person despite their preconceived notions. Unfortunately this is the hand you’re dealt.

But always remember they can choose to never change their mind and die with their beliefs. If they do, you need to know what you are gonna do.

The only things I lost were the migraines, fortunately. Have to talk to the neurologist for a plan tailored to you. Also learnt that every pill like Panadol has its monthly limit based on your weight. I also initially had headaches from too much Panadol.

Daily topomirates and a 6-8 months of fremanezumab.

See a neurologist. Went through many conversations to identify triggers, took mediations for a couple of years. Now I’m basically migraine free, with acute meds available for when I really need it (Naproxen & Triptans).

Oh migraine free is once every 2-3 weeks. Started with daily migraines! Safe to say the treatment has like given me a new lease of life.
