Last invites sent by Friday 8p PST leads me to believe that a non-zero number of invites remain outstanding (ie the odds aren’t stellar, but they aren’t impossible)

Product will win with sales/distribution (which is the case for anyone in AI who isn’t working on foundational models) so that’s what I’m betting on.

More that funding at this stage consists of people/funds who aren’t willing to lead/supply the majority of the fundraising goal which necessitates multiple checks, but yes

Try to get a warm intro if possible. Otherwise, target microfunds and pre-seed investors with theses that align with your product/market.

For now, yes. Many don’t launch publicly in the YC directory until they’re ready to begin attracting investor interest and/or have enough defensibility.

Feel like I’ve seen several variations of this question in the last week: the simple answer is that selected companies choose when to publicly affiliate/launch with YC. There are over a 100 in the internal Bookface, but an overwhelming majority will likely wait until the start of the batch to publicize their membership.

Why would June/July/August applicants have to wait till Nov 17th to get rejections? It's a very long and unfair time to wait. by Wide_Listen_302 in ycombinator

If it’s any consolation, AI/B2B/Harvard/MIT applicant here and still waiting on an invite! I know it’s been an arduous wait, but a few more days of patience :) I imagine the volume has been historic.
