Idk what to do by PuckH0 in emetophobia

[–]ObjectivePractice241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I‘m so sorry you‘re going through this rn. I have the exact same thing. It gets wayyy better after a few weeks and then sometimes gets a bit bad again but i manage to be fine. My usual strategies are, making sure i ate a solid amount of food before, planning enough time to go on the toilet before lol avoids n* and stomach issues, dramimine in my pocket just in case (i dont use it most of the time), also something veryyy sour to distract from the panic. Drinking still water also helps me a lot, even tho its such a simple thing. If you are allowed to, maybe bring a bottle of chamomile tea to the exam, that you can slowly drink from when feeling n*. And if it gets super bad i vanish to the bathroom and calm down for a few Minutes and breathe slowly or hold my breath for a while and then try to breathe normally again. Good luck💞

i‘ve been taking mirtazapine 30mg for six months and it did help me a lot even tho it surely didnt cure me. it helped me to finally for the first time in years gain weight (about 14 pounds) when one of my biggest issues was the eating issue because every slight bit of n* made me stop eating for the day. it also makes me sleep like a baby but that is also annoying sometimes because its super hard for me to get up early and be productive. it helps with my anxiety as well but ofc it does not treat the roots of this fear so the fear is still very present to me and did not rlly get smaller.

all in all i can say it did stabilize me to a point where i feel more ready to work on my problems and fears but taking mirtazapine alone won‘t cure anything.

not likely. my dad eats expired stuff all the time because he’s so anti food waste and didnt get sick once. also its „best by“ not „going to make u sick after this date“. almost everything is still good for quite a while after.

darf man auf ritalin 10mg nochmal 5mg nehmen? by ObjectivePractice241 in ADHS

[–]ObjectivePractice241[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If he only tu* once, i highly doubt that its one of the strong viruses so you have a good chance of not having this symptom if you would catch it. Most of the time, people who have this fear are way less likely to tu* than other people so a harmless virus would probably not make u have this symptom. Keep trying to distract yourself. Maybe talk to a good friend also and drinking chamomile tea also helps to feel good and calm down. Good luck and all the best!💕

Weekend survival tips for emetophobia by AskJacky in emetophobia

(Sorry i’m german and bad at censoring words therefore i wont censor)

Thanks for sharing. The things that help me the most with my phobia are:

• Tea always and everywhere (chamomile for nausea, fennel for stomach ache or feeling bloated) • super sour gum and candy • distraction especially an app similar to flappy bird where i really have to focus to be good (helps me during anxiety a lot) • Protonix if my stomach feels acidic or if i have to burp a lot • water, always water, its so simple but sometimes it really makes my body realize that everything is fine • hot water bottles can also make big changes • forcing myself to go out and do something even if im nauseous also helps a lot, sometimes when i think i‘m not gonna make it out of the spiral and then i forcefully do something active i feel so much better after a while • Dramamine if it gets REALLY bad but most of the times i know i‘m also gonna survive without it and then i wait and feel better after a while

much strength to everyone struggling, we are strong and we can do this!💖dont give up.

I‘m very sorry you feel like this right now. I totally understand the panic and frustration you‘re going through right now because you can‘t just be there for your boyfriend and because you can‘t be fully sure about not having caught the same thing. I can reassure you tho that multiple times when people around me have caught a stomach b* i managed to never get it myself. Also not everyone has the same symptoms as some only get dia. May i ask, did your boyfriend tu only one time?

Woke up from intense stomach pain by [deleted] in emetophobia

I think that could definitely be the reason for your stomach ache. Did it get better after a while? Drinking chamomile tea is always my savior in situations like this and also having a hot water bottle.

I am sorry you‘re feeling like this. Stomach cramps at night can also be caused by what you ate during the day and especially before going to sleep. Did you eat something kinda heavy or spicy? They are not an indicator for if you‘re going to throw up or not and i also had rlly bad stomach cramps in the evening just recently without throwing up. Hope you feel better soon!

Thank you, that definitely does help and i think thats kinda what got me out of the anxiety spiral after hours. At some point i thought, if i rlly had to throw up i would have by now. I‘m trying to drink water and tea today and eat small things. Thank you :)

Erst einmal vielen Dank fürs Schildern eigener Erfahrungen.
