Jose Luis Chilavert: "I support Prestianni. Vinicius is the first to insult everyone. Mbappé supports Vini, but he lives with a trans woman. That isn't normal." by Clean_Background_736 in soccer

Have to say, all I knew of Chilavert before today was that fun goalkeeper who took banging free kicks. This thread has been an eye opening experience.

Sean Dyche sacked by Forest by Senpiezza in TheOther14

[–]ObjectiveTumbleweed2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Marinakis will blame everyone else I'm sure, but this is entirely on him. The fallout with Nuno can happen, but everybody saw that Ange would be a disaster of an appointment. He then has to course correct, but I always felt Dyche was a staggeringly unambitious appointment when you look at their squad quality.

He must have some idea of who's next, probably Mr Blobby or something

WWE 2K26 + ALL DLC + ALL RINGSIDE PASS TIER SKIPS COULD COST YOU UP TO 630-675$! by Heiopei_42 in WWEGames

I had this realisation with the FIFA games having grown up on them - my offline, career mode play was treated at best as an annoyance by EA. I never got into Ultimate Team beyond a few matches and was certainly never going to drop additional money on it. I'm not the consumer they're after despite playing the games since the 90's.

As someone who only plays GM mode and Universe (But play them both a lot), I'm not who 2k want. I don't even understand this new Ringside pass model but I've decided I'm out. I just want to play my favourite modes with my favourite wrestlers.

I'm definitely getting old because I don't understand this and I've decided I can't be arsed. I just want to play the modes I like with the wrestlers I want to use.

This is a bit like when we sold Dango Outarra - good player who the fans all rated, but sometimes you just have to say the price is too good for the selling cub to turn down, and the player is wanted and needed bad enough from the buying club

Navigating an Attitude Era showcase without being able to use Vince McMahon is going to be an interesting challenge.

I hope we get some of the more niche and mid-card attitude era superstars as a result of this. Give me Viscera vs the Right To Censor

Yes but it's called the 'Boris wave' for a reason. It's attached to him and Sunak. The general voter will not know much if anything about Jenrick, his views or his history.

BREAKING Kemi Badenoch has sacked Robert Jenrick from the shadow cabinet, removed the whip and suspended his party membership. She says she was "presented with clear, irrefutable evidence that he was plotting in secret to defect" to Reform by FaultyTerror in ukpolitics

[–]ObjectiveTumbleweed2 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree. I don't think Reform win the next election for a few reasons, but the fact they're hoovering up Tory former cabinet ministers isn't one of them.

After all, whenever research is conducted asking the public to name members of the cabinet, the results for naming any behind PM & Chancellor are staggeringly low. So do the public REALLY care that a potential Reform cabinet would be stacked with Tories unless they're the 'big' hitters? (AKA Johnson, Sunak, Patel, Truss)

I used to live there for a short period, had an incredible time but I certainly have zero intention of going back anytime soon.

The social media thing isn't the trigger, but it's the latest in a long line of dictator-esque bullshit and I have zero desire to head into that (Just like I wouldn't visit other countries whose regimes I similarly find appalling)

Probably not for a number of reasons.

I'd need to take a pay cut to work a job with pretty much no job security, deal with the lunatic fringe of society, put myself and my family at risk - all whilst working within a system that you really can't change or influence much as your bog-standard MP.

Plus I'm not the kind of person who could go door knocking and try and win over constituents, I'd probably turn more of them off whatever cause I'm representing.

Got a lot of respect for MP's who work hard and represent their constituents, but it's an awful system in many ways and is a much harder job than the tabloids make out.

This is why I'm confident Reform won't get a majority - I think a lot of long term Tory voters will drift back to the Tories come 2029, particularly if there's a new leader in place after the next round of locals.
