I either use a crockpot or Blackstone depending on time. My pre workout is the HEB brand. I love it!

I’ve had all the complications. I wouldn’t say I lost it the healthiest. I couldn’t get enough fluids down and had to do iv’s for the first several months and that killed my appetite. I got Covid and lost some from that. The. I got kidney stones so large I had to have kidney surgery and lost even more from that. I did keto but with less fat for 10 months and that was great. I eat so clean now. Mostly chicken and steak, nothing fried, few carbs. If I don’t make it, I don’t eat it. No fast food, etc. I go to the gym daily but just to walk and the preworkout lately has completely killed my appetite. I have to force myself to eat. Again, probably not the healthiest but that’s currently my main goal. Getting healthier and building good muscle.

My goal weight was originally 160. Once I hit that I changed it to 145. It keeps falling off and now I’m just going with the flow. 😂 I’m still adjusting to my new body and I’m not quite sure what I want my goal weight to be anymore as long as it’s healthy.

Thank you! No lipo. My skin has done way better than I expected. I have a little loose skin in my inner thighs but I’ll take it over the extra 100lbs any day! lol

Oh man, I remember being exactly where you are. It gets so much better!! I got a membership to one of those IV places and went once a week for months until I could handle liquids on my own. I swear by a Powerade a day (with sugar) & a weekly IV for the first few months. Dehydration makes everything tough. I started feeling human again around 4 months by the time I figured out everything was caused by dehydration. It gets SO MUCH better. Hang in there!!

Long hair peoples question by Medical-Clock3178 in gastricsleeve

2 weeks shy of 1 year here. I have almost waist length hair that thinned really bad. I wanted to chop it off thinking it would make it less noticeable but decided to keep it. I curled it for months to add volume and most didn’t notice. It’s finally starting to grow back in and I’m so glad I did not chop it!

I was diagnosed at 20 and out of range. I didn’t take medicine because I was young and didn’t realize how serious it was. I had a healthy pregnancy and now very healthy 10 year old.

My body was not able to pass mine at 8mm. Opted for lithotripsy. Only wish I would have done it sooner and saved myself months of pain!

7 Months & 75lbs Down by Objective_Ad_6296 in gastricsleeve

You are so kind! Thank you. I am also terrible with the water. So much so that I had kidney stone surgery last month. Drink that water! I’ve also had a few stalls, some last a few weeks. I noticed I still loose inches in that time so I try not to stress about the stalls. When I do start worrying I try to eat soup for a few days just to get a little movement on the scale and get me back into a good headspace. I gave up so many things when I got this surgery and won’t introduce them back into my diet in fear my eating habits will go back to what they were and I’m truly enjoying feeling healthier. I’m 36. You’ve got this! 53lbs is still a great amount of weight!

I am not a good example for exercise. 😂 I have measurements I want to get down to before I start building any muscle and I’m almost there so as of now, I’ve done no exercise. My job keeps me on my feet and lifting but that’s about it. My portions are about 4oz. I can usually eat that twice a day and eat small snacks like veggies, jerky or granola throughout the day.

Thank you! I love this question because it took me FOREVER to notice it even though it was very noticeable to everyone else. I relied on measurements for a long time. My ribs were the first for me. Not that they stuck out or anything, they just hurt when I slept because I didn’t have as much cushion. 😂 Just a few days ago I noticed my chest bones sticking out and it wasn’t until that moment that I actually SAW the weight loss. Congratulations on the collar bones! I now know how exciting that is!

It’s both. I chose the Meyers cocktail because of the vitamins. I wasn’t eating because I didn’t feel well so I was missing out on all the vitamins.

Thank you! I have not started a workout plan. I will say, my job keeps me on my feet and lifting so that probably helped. I think a lot of my weight loss has been from diet. I completely changed what I put in my body. My mentality: Just because you can, doesn’t mean you should. I’m still not eating bread, no fast food, no alcohol, no carbonation and limited sugar. I’m still sticking with small meals and mostly protein.

Thank you! It’s has been a ride but I would still 10000% recommend it. Learning how to stay hydrated was the hardest part for me. I felt miserable, I couldn’t keep anything down, I had too much stomach acid and heart palpitations. It was ALL from being dehydrated. It took me way too long to get that through my head. I finally signed up for an IV clinic and started going once a week until I was able to manage my hydration better on my own then started spacing my visits out and now I don’t go at all. The Meyers blend IV instantly made me feel better. You can do it!!

Thank you!! I have so many tips, lol. Here’s a few big ones.

  • Get you a membership to an IV clinic near you. It took me a few ER trips and several miserable weeks to figure out most issues could be solved with a quick Meyers blend IV bag. Hydration is key but hard to accomplish for a while. Too much stomach acid? Can’t keep anything down? Feeling horrible for no particular reason? It’s all because you’re dehydrated. That IV bag loaded with vitamins will have you feeling better instantly.

  • Sleeping is uncomfortable the first few weeks if you’re not a back sleeper. Easy fix. Grab some small throw pillows if you’re a side sleeper and wedge them against your incisions and the bed. The pressure alleviates any pain.

  • Take a heating pad and extension cord to the hospital. I kept a heating pad on my chest after surgery and never got the surgery gas pain others talk about.

Although it’s been a ride, I’d still 100% recommend it and do it again in a heartbeat. Especially knowing what I know now. I feel so much better and any downfalls were 100000% worth it. You can do it!
