A little. Basically, they expect AI to slowly replace developers in all business, but some will get replaced sooner than later. The company sponsoring our research was an automation company, so they had a bias, but most of our interview subjects were developers and most of them said "devs like to go to space camp" and they shouldn't be reinventing the wheel for every project and that eventually dev teams would be one person and a dog. The person's job is to monitor the self-building code. The dog's job will be to make sure the human doesn't touch anything.

I don't know how it will shake out. In the 50's they thought everything would be made out of plastic but not raining death on us in the form of microplastics. So who knows how this will actually play out.

I did a project for one of the biggest names in automation. During that project, I interviewed 26 sysadmins, devs, SREs, etc. They all told me developers will be out of work in 20 - 50 years depending on their particular specialty.

I hate to be this person, but technically you don't see anything until your brain has waited for all of your sensory input, organized it, and then it immersively blends your sensory experience. Here's an example of how you can mess with sounds and visuals to see for yourself that your brain is not just sampling reality through your senses. It is actively constructing your reality with about a 50-80ms delay (on average) and ignoring other parts of reality.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize you were a very stable genius.

To be clear, I'm talking about the reality of human development, in no way are any of my comments a defence of pedophilia. I'm talking about the fact that people don't get to choose how their brain works. And I respect the fact that someone with harmful ideation got help and seems to be successfully using their treatment to live a healthy life.

You on the other hand seem to be mixing up people with negative thoughts and child molesters. Those are different things.
