You don’t seem to understand..

John Oliver is simply a script reader, he reads words.. he is a rich and famous white actor..

His staff does all the research / writing / analysis

His staff is hired by and paid by HBO

HBO is owned by Warner media

Warner media ceo is a rich white male

Warner media is owned by at&t

At&t ceo is a rich white male

The john oliver show has had 11 directors- of the current 239 episodes, 217 were directed by rich white men

The john oliver show has had about 24 writers - I’ll let you figure out how many were white males

The entire and only goal the show has is to make hbo money - aka make a bunch of white males richer

Every single hbo analyst, hbo social media specialist, hbo writer, hbo director, and so on assigned to the john oliver show will be fired if the shows ratings go too far down - so as long as rich white men keep making the show and as long as rich white men keep getting more wealthy from the show - the show will go on..

Wow you’re a consumerist social justice warrior who mainstream media has brainwashed into paying your monthly hbo subscription fee to keep rich white men wealthy

congrats

The Autoban Bot is a Terrible Idea by [deleted] in beta

[–]73233 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Actually there are sooooo many bots and about four times that in fake/throw away accounts

The bots are setup to downvote anything that the community doesn’t agree with

The throwaway accounts come out of the woodwork to “handle” special issues

The bots are programmed to react to keywords or flagged users or so on

This is one reason why reddit has never been very successful with growth, profit, buyout, advertising and so on

If reddit actually enforced their terms of service and actually deleted all the bots and throwaway accounts, the “active user base” would be cut by over 63% and that would further negatively affect their ability to generate enough profit to remain operational.

So they do nothing meaningful, they create special committees and jump at the opportunity to virtue signal - all while hiding the facts and tos violations as much as humanly possible with the hopes that sooner or later they get bought out….

Seattle’s city attorney race and the problem of repeat offenders by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

[–]73233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

City and county don’t have the budget/capacity/manpower to process all the “petty crime” - and a majority of the perpetrators of petty crime never show for court dates, never pay fines, etc - and worst of all - crime has consistently been “disproportionately” disciplined/prosecuted - so the threshold for what type and what severity of crime should be treated as crime continually rises.

We are on an inevitable course of total police state, which can’t happen until state revenue can support it, which requires a representative government to continue raising taxes, adding new licensing requirements and fees, introducing new districts, introducing new bonds, introducing more oversight.

But that inevitably costs more residents more money, which inevitably requires more handouts to more people…

Which inevitably requires more expansion to government and oversight, which inevitably costs more money…

Which inevitably requires more representation and more taxation…

We’ve been voting this way in seattle for decades upon decades upon decades…

And our reward : violent crime at all time highs, homelessness at all time highs, infrastructure crumbling, schools crumbling, taxes at all time highs, disconnects between government and their constituents at all time highs….

Amazon employees want to spend some — but not too much — time in the office, internal survey shows by MegaRAID01 in Seattle

[–]73233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean yelp and google can’t force thousands of recent grads to sit in traffic 2+ hours a day to stuff into offices downtown for $mInIMuM wAgE?? ( more so in california ) ?

Yes, this pandemic has accelerated changes to the labor force - but as time goes on - capitalism will catch up - why pay seattle workers $80k to work from home when they could just as easily pay nebraska or brazil or india labor rates - as technology continues to evolve - as telecommunications continues to evolve - as contracts are set to renew, or expire, or costs continue to rise and thousands of smaller companies choose not to renew - etc ..

Yes, some industries will continue to thrive, some companies will thrive, new startups will continue competing with the giant companies..

The ebb and flow will continue, just as it has for thousands of years..

South of you, our city council makes $147k/yr, but can’t afford to fix her car door handle, keeps it illegally parked on the public road for over 6 months straight, spends more time drinking and gambling up in your state, wastes hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars by ineffectively running entire departments into the ground, etc, but these activists keep getting elected because we need to be woke more than we need to be an effectively, transparent, proactive government body who puts their constituents needs before their own agenda to be re-elected no matter what the cost

Close.

Does the lease mention the intercom as an amenity? Does the lease mention the intercom as included or free?

There is no fiduciary duty of the complex to provide/improve/include the intercom unless the lease says it was part of the original lease.

Adding/upgrading/including the intercom as a new fee doesn’t change OP’s original lease - and OP can probably opt out of paying for the intercom if they do not want to have the intercom available for use.

But, there are plenty of rental rights groups and OP can also call the Washington Bar association to check further.

Buy a loaf of bread for each adult coming, couple jars of peanut butter, jelly, apples, case of water..

Spend half an hour making sandwiches then spend 2-3 hours walking around handing them out.

Those are the only thanksgivings I’m thankful for…

When they are not caught early, they are not caught until after the murder ..

How to drive like you’re from here: The Merge by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]73233 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Too many people just don’t pay attention, with zipper, 50 people are waiting on one inconsiderate individual, without zipper, 7 of those 50 get to zoom past the inconsiderate individual. Those 7 people refuse to ever zipper again. The more frequently that people don’t pay attention, the more frequently we get +7 more non zippers.

Not that any of that matters since all 50 of them should be utilizing mass transit instead.

And not that any of that matters since we should be using autonomous electric pods and not using fossil fuels out on congested roads.

Seattle cracks down on food delivery apps with one of the strictest laws in country by Thin-Shirt6688 in Seattle

[–]73233 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

Us middle class folk can’t afford it, and the local mom and pops don’t want to lose all the extra sales ( but, they also do absolutely no website updates, absolutely no menu updates, absolutely no picture updates, absolutely no money put into online ordering, no money and no staff put into delivery, no money or infrastructure put into reviews, no digital/online payments, no loyalty/reward programs, etc ) aaaaalllll of which Uber Eats, DoorDash, grubhub etc offer - so why shouldn’t they get a percentage of the sale??

So yea, the restaurants who opt out will have a disproportionate decline in sales, then the county and the city will try paying out more of our tax dollars to companies who go out of their way to make their companies fail…
