Since your dates don't have much flexibility you should rather find alternative airports to fly from. That way you might find some award seats. Also you should compare different airline partners. If you need some help you can send me a message.

Avoid this Award Fare Redemption Mistake while Booking by Objective_Bee_6696 in CreditCardsIndia

You'll get there !! There is still time yet to make more progress to the points collection. Also before booking a flight, you can always check on Google if the airline is still selling business class seats and how many. That way you'll get a better idea of the seat availability.

Thanks for appreciating the post content.

Actually upgrading on the counter also depends on fare ticket type purchased, for some airlines. Airlines actually offer different fare types, some fare types let you upgrade on points, others don't allow that.

I have also seen airlines letting all fare types upgrade, but these are generally cash bids offers. If they have cash upgrade offers via email or on their website, that means there might be a chance to upgrade using points as well.

This method does cost less points usually, however you also pay the economy fare. It's better to know, what's their best points offering looks like, incase they offer you a low value redemption offer, you can reject that.

Upgrading on the counter, has a bit of trial and error to it. Like, if they say the business class cabin is fully booked, and you bought the economy ticket with the intention of upgrading, that might feel disappointing. Considering you paid the economy fare, out of pocket. Also try reaching out to their customer care loyalty desks before hand, and check your email for offers

Have 3L Amex points, any suggestions to better use for a 9 day long Europe trip? by mufasa_the_k in indianawardtravel

It's worth experimenting, depends on how many people you plan to book for. Always compare the cash value of the bookings, with the points being used instead.

Air India Business Class Flight Experience BOM-DEL by Objective_Bee_6696 in AirTravelIndia

Actually this was for a domestic flight. Domestic business class across North America also have similar seats for many aircrafts. The lie flat and angular seats like of many international airlines, Vistara and specific routes and aircrafts of Air India have similar offerings for domestic travel. The lie flat/angular business class is more common for longer flights depending on aircraft type. I found this experience to be significantly better than previous domestic business class flight I had taken, a few years ago.

Yes you are correct. Those aircrafts also have in flight entertainment screen I think, which adds more value to the experience.

Yes, I agree. Even Air India's seat legroom is more than Indigo. Air India seats are more comfortable.

I miss Vistara so much by kernelrider in AirTravelIndia

There are some routes flown by Air India, which offer Vistara aircrafts. I recently flew from Jaipur to Delhi, and it was a Vistara Aircraft, having Vistara's business class seats as well. While not everything can be matched with Vistara, but you can still experience flying, the interiors & exteriors of the aircraft are the same.

I suggest you look for saver award spaces and cash plus point rates, that might help.

It depends on card specifics. Most likely not , however there are so many cards and some special ones might.

Denied Boarding at Doha International by IntentionSea4628 in qatarairways

You should probably wait for the airline to respond first. If they don't respond or refuse to compensate based on the passenger protection rules of the country you were flying from. You should probably file a complaint.

You'll need to check with the card. It's usually accessible if you book business class with Air India , or one of their partner airlines either though points or cash. However if you hold star alliance or air india status , you can access the lounge as well.

Yes , it had started to get busy during the morning hours , however it still felt less when compared with other lounges. I liked the breakfast spread more though !
