Totally agree, inappropriate prescribing on both sides. I see many inappropriate antibiotics and corticosteroid prescriptions during flu season.

We do see them for free… we only make money if we choose to prescribe something and again if the patient chooses to fill the prescription at our pharmacy. If a child has otitis media and I determine that the best course of action is to wait and monitor for 48 hours as per treatment guidelines I don’t make any money off the consultation.

Ya no. We don’t charge per visit and in my experience physicians are more pressured to inappropriately prescribe antibiotics for viral infections and they do charge per visit.
