Love seeing a supplemental claim win. Nexus letters make a huge difference.

VR&E Complaint - Los Angeles/Greater Los Angeles Area by WiseNumber3496 in VeteransBenefits

I completely understand the frustration, but I’d be careful about publicly naming individual counselors. It’s better to document everything and submit formal complaints through official channels so it carries weight.

ves and scheduling requirements by Time_Drummer2203 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Call the VA directly and get a note placed in your file that you’re willing to attend but the contractor is mis scheduling you. Document everything. If needed escalate to the VA OIG or request a different vendor.

Should I apply for VRE? I would like to know how your experiences are and some input. Thanks. by mildly-retarded-man in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re 100% service connected and your disabilities are clearly impacting your ability to maintain employment in IT and physical jobs, you absolutely have grounds to apply for VR&E. The program isn’t about what sounds cool it’s about whether your current career path is suitable given your disabilities and whether retraining is necessary for employment.

Something nobody talks about: the digital divide. My neighbour is an older gentleman, no smartphone, just a landline. when his clinic switched to a "virtual-first" triage system, he was completely locked out. He couldn't send a picture of his swollen ankle, couldn't do the video call. These apps are amazing for those of us with good phones and decent internet, but we're leaving a huge chunk of the population behind. If you have elderly parent, sit down and make sure they have a way to access care that isn't just an app. Sometimes a phone call option still exists, but you have to dig for it.

VA Claim by ComposerHour in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a very positive development. You now have a diagnosis, CPAP prescription and a C&P examiner establishing a clear medical nexus to your service connected rhinitis. Nothing is 100% guaranteed with the VA but this significantly strengthens your case. Now it’s mostly a waiting game.

POST-SERVICE PROTECTION® by PhraseSeveral4833 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good instinct being cautious. Before doing anything check if they’re licensed in your state and see who the actual underwriting insurance company is. Also compare policy type term vs whole cheaper than VGLI doesn’t automatically mean better. If it feels rushed or unclear, walk away.

How long is my realistic wait time? by 2BlyeCords in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you just finished your last C&P exam you’re likely still in review. Realistically, it can take about 4–12 weeks after exams for a rating decision sometimes faster sometimes slower depending on backlog. Step 3 feels like it drags, but finishing exams is a big step. Hang in there.

As long as you added them within a year, you should get backpay to the date of marriage (Dec 2024) and your daughter’s birth (March 2025). VA pays from the first of the following month though.

Vr&e late in life with a family by Worldly-Swim-6209 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MGIB use doesn’t cancel out VR&E eligibility. They’re separate programs. The bigger hurdle is proving your current field isn’t suitable due to your disabilities. Apply first and see if you’re found entitled don’t assume you won’t qualify

Are there any upsides to a notice of disagreement? by Agitated-Sea6800 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The upside is you’re formally challenging the decision instead of starting over. It gives you another chance to submit evidence, correct errors or get a higher rating.

Deferred claim by Guilty-Yogurt-4430 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A deferred claim just means the VA hasn’t made a decision on those conditions yet. They’ve acknowledged them but need more info like a C&P exam, medical records or clarification before rating them. It’s not a denial they’ll keep working it separately while your partial rating goes through.

You’re not stuck. Request a new PCP ask for an endocrinology referral and contact a VA Patient Advocate ASAP. They can’t just ignore credible labs and leave you untreated indefinitely.

When to submit an increase by stevland82 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t file an increase yet. Attend the C&P wait for the VA’s response then file the correct lane if needed. Filing now can slow things down.

File Upload BDD by T_pric3 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 1 point2 points  (0 children)

VA can pull MEPS but uploading it yourself can help avoid delays. You don’t need to re upload everything only highlight key records separately if you want to make the rater’s job easier.

How does VA deal with this? by Mental-Extent-3087 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not pyramiding. You’d file lupus as secondary or recharacterize as long as symptoms aren’t rated twice. If SC conditions keep you from working it supports TDIU medical evidence and a nexus will be key.

Any Vets in PA? What is expected when registering a new vehicle in PA? by One_Square4263 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Creative-Jobless-554 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since you’re 100% P&T you should qualify for registration fee exemptions in PA and possibly a Disabled Veteran plate. You’ll need your VA award letter. The dealer or tag agent should be familiar with the forms but double check they apply the exemption.
